The caller asked if 'I' was available.  I said 'speaking' then there is was silence.  I said 'hello' - no response.  I looked up the the number on 800notes.com and few folks are saying its a scam, and others saying its a debt solutions company.  Well, if its a scam - easy to ignore.  However, I did check out Lifeguard Financial.  I am surprised that people actually pay firms like these to consolidate their 'debt' and little do they know that consolidating "may" help reduce your bills however your credit is not going to get better.  It's a fact - I worked in risk management assessing credit bureaus.  A CCS will be noted on your report and will remain there for 7 yrs as part of your history.  To my fellow americans - don't EVER use a firm to consolidate your debt.  You can do the same thing they do for free, and without damaging your credibility.  Go to http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre26.shtm .  REAL counselors DO NOT CHARGE FEEs.  However, if you do choose to use one - refer to the website I posted.  It's such a shame that companies take advantage of people whom do not know what to do - the information is free from the government on how to get help without spending a dime.  If your completely broke and have debt - how in the world are you going to pay for debt consolidation services??!!  As they say "Land of Opportunity for many  crooks!"  Bottom line don't be an Idiot and exploit your information to firms who want to make money.  Get educated and use your government for free advice.

This number can be found to belong to Pyramid Financial.  I seriously doubt their validity or worth, as they are spoofing their number, something I know because I have selective call rejection on my phone and although this number comes up on the ID, the rejection software does not recognize it as blocked, so the caller is using VoIP and calling from a different number, only showing this as the main one. This was explained to me so I may have the details wrong but the bottom line is, an honest, well-meaing business wouldn't hide their identity or number.
They should just die in a fire and leave us alone.

Actually, what companys do who have a VOIP system is they post there toll free number so a client can call back, rather than putting there local line and have a client have to call with long distance.

They contacted me and explained the program and it seemed very good, however I only had about 8K in debt and I didnt want to hurt my credit score for that low of debt. If i get more debt, or my score gets worse...then I will call them back - they seemed honest with me. It seems like a great idea if you already have a score below average....just my 2 cents

I got a POSTCARD from these people, saying "Dear xxxxx, We have been trying to contact you regarding your recent credit card payments.  This will be our last attempt to contact you in regards to this matter.  Please contact us immediately at 877-346-2797"

Now as far as I'm concerned, this is illegal because a post card can be read by anyone, the language on the card is such that this company appears to be disclosing the existence of a debt to a 3rd party, and this is illegal under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

The return address is "Card Services, 4 W Las Olas Boulevard Suite 801, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301"

Hmmm... I received the same postcard.  My guess is if they call you repeatedly and you don't answer, they send you a postcard.  BEWARE: any company which does not identify itself or why they are contacting you is a sham. Never, never deal with a firm that does this.  Don't let your curiousity get the better of you.  If you have doubts, there is no doubt - it's a sham to put you in contact with the vermin who masquerade as debt collection agents.  Please ignore all the "glowing" remarks other people put on here - clearly they are just flunkies for these companies!

    Dear CRM
I got the same post card & the only credit card I have is a Chase card that i send to Credit Card services. I am not behind on the payment & they have not tried to contact me one time like they say they have been trying to contact me on my recent credit card payments.  The card says FINAL NOTICE -CARD SERVICES in big bold letters.  I really dont appreciate this either. I wont call them back.

I got a call from this number two weeks and it was a debt relief company. I signed up and hopefully will be debt free real soon. I was nervous at first as it does sound like a great plan. I ended up calling my neighbor about this company and oddly enough, his son is enrolled in their debt relief program currently. I obviously asked how it was going for him and to get back with me. Next week I saw them on Father's day and the son told me directly that he has saved a lot of money dealing with them. The company's Name is Debt Relief Centers of America. I hope I get the same results as my neighbors son, so far everything is perfect, but ill wait for some results before I endorse them like the my neighbors son.

PS- I did see that they have a good rating with the BBB, so that's always a good start.

Received a call about 5 minutes ago saying they're debt consolidation for the United States Federal Student Loans. I've already spoken with Navient (who my loans are with) they've confirmed no one should call regarding anything about student loans. These people may not be a scam about debt consolidation but it can lead to problems later down the line. Best to just stick to the company you have the loans through.
