- Kel| 1 replyI received a call from a blocked number. He explained that he was a process server in my county (even though -he could not pronounce it). I told him "Great. I've been expecting you. Please come serve me" He said no, I need to call 877-350-3837 and speak with them. I kept insisting that he just come serve me and get it over with. He said that is not how it works, and I said "Well in ___ County, yes it is". I got tired of playing with him and just hung up. Tired of these calls... Can't find this 877 number on any search engines, so I am not about to call it.

- Jo| 2 repliesCaller ID said "unknown number"
Left message on my work voice mail saying he had to deliver a subpoena from my county court division (did not indicate which division) and would be at my home between 2 and 4 today and that I had to be there with witnesses to sign for my documents. Also stated I had to call the Legal Compliance Department at 877-350-3837 if I need to reschedule. Leary of calling back when I can not find this number affiliated with any specific organization and I have never heard of having to have witnesses available to sign for something like this. - lisa replies to JoI just got the same call, the caller sound like he was reading from a script. I will not call that number back.

- Gunnar replies to tomYou're a Liar & a Shill "tom"! Go ahead & prove me wrong! You can't & you wont...
All you'd have to do, "tom", is give us the name of the plaintiff & their valid physical address. It's all right there on those papers that you were supposedly served. We all know that you're not going to be giving us a verifiable thing "tom" & we all know why not!
Skeff Ett Liv!

- Arkansas| 1 replyReceived a call from a Jessica stone , stated she was a processor, she will be at my home Friday between 730-400 pm and I needed a eye witness and two forms of ID. Reports she has a claim, gave a case number and states she will be bringing law enforcement with her...
- Caller: Jessica Stone,
- BigA replies to ArkansasThey claim they are officers of the court, or that an officer will accompany them, or even that they are sending officers to arrest you. All hogwash. They are now also claiming that they will be in an “orange vest” and they tell you to lock up your dogs and guns for “everyone’s” protection. More hogwash.
They mention that they have received a Fax document, to create the sense of urgency and tell you that they are a “process server”. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (with a made up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer). They threaten to serve you at home or at work. They tell you that if they serve you at work they need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work. They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID. None of which is true. Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them. Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else. They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”. Court documents are time sensitive and have to be served within a certain amount of time. Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there is actually a lawsuit that has been filed against you.
It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

- HarrassmentI got two phone calls from this number, actually it was from a private number and gave me the 877-350-3837 number to call back to. Funny thing is I'm military and I have Soldiers in my unit that are police, FBI, etc. After one of them listened to the phone call they called the 877 number and started asking legal questions. The caller hung up, guess they didn't want to play with an actual law enforcement official. Don't fall for this scam.
