- eff payday loans| 3 repliesYeah..I took some payday loans..yeah maybe I didn't pay them...maybe I did.... Well..too bad. You predatory lenders can keep selling these debts all u want
.after 7 years it's not a legal debt anymore. Try following through with your threats why don't u..come at me bro! - BigA replies to eff payday loans| 2 replies".after 7 years it's not a legal debt anymore" Actually it still is a legal debt, it is simply not shown on your credit report. It is even still a legal debt after the Statute of Limitations has passed, it is just that they cannot sue you for it then.
http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/statut ... hart-29941.html - Badge714 replies to BigA| 1 replyYup!
"Try to collect debts for which the statute of limitations has expired. The statute of limitations begins on the first day you miss a debt payment, and it typically lasts between four and six years. To find out the statute of limitations on your past-due debts, speak to a consumer law attorney in your state or contact your state attorney general’s office. A debt collector is legally entitled to collect a debt after the statute of limitations has run out on it; however, the debt collector is breaking the law if he sues you over the debt or threatens to sue you."
"If a debt collector violates your legal rights when he contacts you about a debt that has been charged off or for which the statute of limitations has expired, get in touch with a consumer law attorney right away. You should do the same if a debt collector tries to get away with reporting to the credit bureaus that one of your old debts is new. "
http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/debt-co ... -old-debts.html - BigA replies to Badge714I posted the link to the state SOLs. They run from 3 to 15 years I think is the longest depending on the type of contract. While they can still attempt to collect a debt past the SOL they cannot legally threaten a lawsuit. They may also be legally required to tell you the debt is past SOL.
- Anonymous| 1 replyScammers. They spoof a local number in your area. Leave some scary message..."give your statement or we will check into your financials and press charges" message, then they leave a toll free number of some kind. In this instance it is 877-203-7594.
We are very tired of the scammers in this world who take advantage of the peoples ignorance. the best advice given here is to ignore the calls and do not respond to them. we have launched a campaign to straighten the system out of this vile deception. Scammers you have been warned.

- Just meGetting calls from this number for several months now, reported it to the Attorney General - they are investigating them, and have been for awhile now. The debt they are trying to collect on is with a collection agency that I am currently working with. They claim that they are going to serve me summons if I don't pay 3x the amount of the original debt, which I have paid down. The original debt had been paid on for 2 years, but with high interest the balance hardly moved, the company itself said it was a wash/write off. These scammers get a list of the write-offs and that's what they try to collect. As soon as I got the first call, I called the original debtor and handled it through them. They said it was a scam and to ignore it. POS use scare tactics and get lots of money from people that know no better. Sad...

! There is an alert for this business !
This company offers debt collection services.
Consumers should note, when dealing with debt collection companies, that there are obligations outlined by law governing collection practices, especially those conducted by a third party collector (as opposed to a direct employee of the firm to which money is owed). You are encouraged to seek documentation of the debt as stated by the collector. It should also be noted that a debt collection company's customer is the company to which the debt is owed, not the consumer who owes the money to that company. The Better Business Bureau processes complaints against companies as filed by their clients. As such, the BBB will make complaints from consumers known to the company, but will only pursue formal disputes against a collection agency when that disagreement is between the collector and the company with which it has made an agreement to pursue repayment. If you feel that the company is not acting within the confines of the law, or need advice concerning the legitimacy of the debt, the BBB suggests that you contact the Oklahoma Office of Consumer Credit at (405) 521-3653.
In January 2011, the company was the subject of news reports in Kansas concerning its attempts to collect debts owed to Hollywood Video stores. While Hollywood Video may be out of business, a collector may be hired to collect or purchase the debts of a company. NCS has demonstrated that the firm is obligated to collect Hollywood Video debts and maintains it is doing so legitimately in the course of its regular business. Some consumers have stated that the company has made notations to those debtors' credit reports prior to attempting to collect the debt, which may violate the law. Consumers also complain that the fees being charged by the company to collect on late fees or missing videos attributed to those consumers' accounts are excessive and unreasonable; if that is the case, the company may also have violated rules concerning collection practices limiting the amount of penalties to be charged. Consumers are reminded that just because a company has gone out of business, it does not mean that debts owed to that firm are not valid. In many cases, a company's outstanding debts are viewed as an asset, and may be liquidated as such. The new owner of that debt may then collect that debt. It's also important to note that, while some debts may become unreportable after they have reached a certain maturity, a debt is not truly considered satisfied until it has been paid off and collection efforts may continue.
In January 2011, the Attorney General of Montana filed a suit in district court concerning National Credit Solutions' collection practices. The AG alleges that NCS violated consumer protection laws concerning proper notification to debtors prior to negative comments being added to the debtors' credit reports. The Attorney General acknowledges the firm's right to collect legitimate debts, but noted in a statement concerning the suit that it appears NCS violated a number of laws in the attempt to do so. The suit is pending; this report will be updated when a conclusion is reached.
According to an article appearing at MSNBC, the company has agreed to remove the negative notations from consumers' credit reports as a courtesy. The article can be found online here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41390483/ns/business-consumer news/
On May 5, 2012, the Tennessee Attorney General also took action against Hollywood Video and its collection agent. Consumers can view the action at www.tn.gov/consumer. Consumers should note that a press release covering the action mentions that some consumer debts related to Hollywood Video accounts may still be subject to collection.
