- Sam replies to BigA| 1 replyIts Sunday....all legit agencies are closed
- JReading these comments makes me glad I didn’t answer. Blocking this number.
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BigA replies to SamWhile federal and state agencies may be closed on Sunday, their web pages where you can file complaints are not.
If you are referring to debt collection agencies, I know that they have call centers staffed 7 days a week. Calling on a Sunday does not make them illegitimate. Not following the letter of the law does. - annoyed| 1 replyI have all but given up to block numbers from scammers. They have many multiple numbers. If you block one or two, they will just call from another. It is impossible to stop their unwanted calls. Anyone got any good ideas? I'm wide open. FTC and Do Not Call List is a JOKE. I do not owe them ANYTHING!!! Where did they get my number??

- BigA replies to annoyed"Anyone got any good ideas? " I posted the permanent solution to your problem at the top of this very page. I helps to read. You should also have been aware that the DNC covers sales calls and sales calls only, so it does not apply to this situation. That was made clear on their page:
What the Do Not Call lists covers and doesn’t cover and why: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0108-national-do-not-call-registryQuote:If I register my number, will ALL unwanted calls stop?
No, the Do Not Call Registry prohibits sales calls. You still may receive political calls, charitable calls, debt collection calls, informational calls, and telephone survey calls.
In addition, companies may still call if you’ve recently done business with the company, or if you’ve given the company written permission to call you. However, if you ask a company not to call you again, it must honor your request. Record the date of your request - CuriousThey call while I was at Church did not answer. They didn't leave a message. if it is important they would live a message.
- Alescarrier coded this "debt collector"
- Renee| 1 replyCalled from many #s so far, some spoofed to be "local" to me. All trace to Midland Credit Management. ALL ask for a "Candace Reece" .. Never leave a message. The few times I answer, I tell them wrong number after they ask for her, they hang up.
- Caller: No name given

- BigA replies to ReneeSounds like you should be sending them a "not me" letter. If you use the link at the top of this page, it will take you to my post that tells you what to do and where to report them.
- Monica| 1 replyThis is a scam. I must say, the Indian scammers are getting more and more clever in stealing money. They spoof the number of an actual company and claim you owe. They are not part of the company they are spoofing and will steal your credit card info. They are not a part of Midland Credit. Always check your credit before you give any collection agency money. You get one free credit report per year. Only do business with the origination company. Never work with the collection agency.

- AngelI received a call for my fiance. They had his name backwards...lol. I spoke to 3 people who REFUSED to give me a call back number to pass on to my fiance. Who does that???? I couldn't even get the name of the company. So crazy!!!!

- Actually.. replies to MonicaThe real Midland Credit are known to violate state and federal debt collection laws as well.
- Annoyed in GAThe house I rent was bought by a property management company (meaning it was probably foreclosed or something or other). Received a call for someone I didn't know. I now realize it's the previous homeowner. I knew the name they asked for sounded familiar because I've had to return the person's mail to sender. I usually don't answer calls like these but I'd recently placed an order from a dept store so I thought maybe it had something to do with that. Nope... asking for previous homeowner.
Don't know how they got my phone number. I assume my mobile is now connected with the address of the home I'm renting online somewhere, so it makes sense that it's a robocall. This is frustrating. When will someone help protect consumers from this type of stuff?
Recommend you block the number unless you have debts to settle. Just giving my story in case it helps give anyone some clarity...they might be looking for a previous resident of the home you live in.- Caller: debt collector
- ToddCalled today. I andwered they said they were midland credit and they were calling about a debt. When we got down to brass tacks and they finally had to tell me the original company the money was owed too and the date I just laughed at the guy. I told him that bill was over 11 yrs old and I wasnt going too, and didnt have to pay it. So he got all pissy and told me they will never start calling. I just laughed and told him I would never start paying. Then i asked how his wife and kids were doing and he hung up.
- Caller: Midland credit
- TomI answered the call but no one responded, I again said hello and waited, still no answer, then after about a minute of silence they hung up. Weird, Annoying call.

- Someone who care's!Midland Credit, DEBT COLLECTOR! Be careful, these people are scavengers, they harass and threaten to garnish your wages to pay-up! LOL... First, you don't have a contract with them. They are buying debt from other companies in hopes they GET an unsuspecting debtor and get them to start paying-up. Remember, to check your state statue of limitations, maybe the debt is time barred. (Any claims or action beyond the statutory limitation period is said to be time barred.) Here's what the Federal Consumer Protection Agency has to say regarding Debt Collectors https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/debt-collection-faqs and Visit the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to file complaint if needed https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint Remember, these people are scavengers. File Bankruptcy Protection in your state. You can get legal aid through your Attorney General of your state. Good Luck.
