Desperate debt collector with shady practices, threatening to serve papers at home or at work. Demanding immediate payment at "a fraction of the total debt owed". Gave me a docket number, but when I asked which court it was filed in, he started to backtrack and stated they would be filing within 24 hours. Scam.

I received the same call and threat. I didn’t answer or call back. These calls happen way to often.

I just got a call from this number today. Same thing, threatening with a summons and arrest if I fail to sign said summons. Got the same type of call about three weeks ago, I thought I blocked the number.  If it is a debt collector I know I do not have any debt in collection.  If only we can track arrest and lock up these spammers.

Scammers for sure, using a different name today. These people are scum, the lowest of the low. I don’t even have any outstanding debt.

My fiancé received a call/voicemail from this number. Threatening to serve him a court summons for a credit card debit from 2013. Wouldn’t give any information except that it was a Capital 1 card, so we called Capital 1 and of course, no card or debt is owed by him. The caller said the summons would be coming to home or work today. No one showed up. We called several times and only 2 people seem to work here, Robert is who called us, extremely rude, hung up on us several times. They said their name was Kirkland Litigations or something like that. We called a real Kirkland Associates company and reported to them that this scam is using their name. Clearly a SCAM, don’t give them any info or money.

Just received a call from the same # threatening me with a summons.  I am actually hoping someone will show up at my job with a fake summons since I work at a prison and they will be stuck there until the police arrive to arrest them.

Even if this WERE real (it's not) and it would be hilarious if they actually showed up at your work, I highly doubt a real process server would go to a prison with a summons. I could be wrong, not knowing an actual process server, but I doubt it.

Definitely a scam. REAL process servers don't call in advance. Nor do they give you the option to pay your way out of being served, which is what these scammers would tell you if they thought you were falling for their scam.

I got one today from Robert... very rude... hung up on me... then a guy name Curtis called this evening... saying he was gonna bring me a summons within 72 hours

They claim they have a summons against me but won’t give information about their company and hang up when I ask what state they are in. They claim I made a recent payment on an extremely old account which is not true.

I received a call from this number today looking for my husband.  Of course they won't give me and information.
Told them to call his number and she hung up on me after saying they will see him in court. I called back and asked to speak to her supervisor and was told no and again hung up on me.  I called back a few more times and got the same each time.  I am going to try and block the number if I can.

I just received a call from Curtis saying he has summons in hand and will be delivering today. I need two forms of ID to accept.  If I want to know more about who is filing judgement against me. I should return the call.

The past two weeks now this number has called my phone and threatened me with a summons and it's upsetting me and scaring my fiance

The fake process server extortion attempt usually consists of the following:

They mention that they have received a Fax document or some sort of complaint and that there is a pending legal matter or action about to filed against you to create the sense of urgency.  They tell you that they are a “process server” and cannot give you the particulars of the case since the file is sealed. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (often with a made-up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  They threaten to serve you at home or at work.  They tell you that if they serve you at work then they will need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work.  They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID.  None of which is true.  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.  They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”.  Court documents are time sensitive and must be served within a certain amount of time.  Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there really is a lawsuit that has been filed against you.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

Have received a call now twice from the same number. First time I answer and they told me same thing as all other people had said , threaten me on serving papers saying that I’m being sued by this credit card company to which I don’t owe any money, so I said if that’s the case go ahead and do it, send me the papers and I hang up. 2 weeks have been by and I got the same call today so I don’t answer and the left me the same message, it’s a scam call ! So I just blocked their number
This card that they claim was discharge out of my report on 2010!! Incredible! I hope no one fall by this scammers and give them any money.. this should be illegal!!  just hang up!!

Just got my second call, with the same threats, Preparing a summons, Except this time I got the last laugh, Nice try better luck next time, I will not fall for this scam, Im smarter then that, But there are to many people out there that will.. Lets keep this going to stop this..
