They left a message for me regarding a telephone interview.  She gave me the phone # 508-828-2168 to call her back.  When I did reply to that number they asked me for my SSN#.  I told them I do not give out that information and again, they asked me for it.  I hung up.  Can  you say "SCAM"??

If it's DTA and you've agreed to a phone interview  they already *have* your SS #. What did you think the interviewer was going to do, supply you food over the phone ?  Their job is to (1) verify you are who you say you are if you refuse a f2f interview where you would be reqiored  hand over your SS card or passport or license (2) ask the same questions they would ask anyone else.  Too many of us are being denied help because so many of you are defrauding the system and being caught in one of the worst shake ups in MASS history. If people are refusing to supply security verification to the interviewiers trying to help you, the interviewers have every right to hang up on you and move on to the next person . They have a backlog and still must interview 50 people per day

I agree Judy. I have also received a call from the same number. Even if it is the DATA, I have never applied for any kind of assistance. Good thing you did not give out your ss#.

I was apply a few weeks .,i miss a phone call from  this number i call back i couldnt reach no one ..the line always busy .

It's not a scam. You have to supply your SS to move forward with the call. It makes me uncomfortable too.

I received a call from this number, it showed up in my call list with the number and title of "unknown".  It is the DTA phone number, but I have not applied for any assistance of any type so I do no know why they would be calling me?

You're right.  An honest company would want you to know and remember their name and why they are calling.  Block the number.
