- liz replies to Lonnieits the adp verification line for checks
- Trickbuster| 1 replyIf you get a check for $3 or $5 from these folks for no reason, out of thin air, it could be someone trying to verify your address AND your bank account AND get your bank account number as well. Bill collectors, identity thief's, and PI's use this "service" for this purpose. It's like the "Hello, you have won a prize/sweepstakes/lottery; just give us [all your personal information] and we will send you FREE MONEY. If you call, they will need "verification of your identity" before they will give you any info - your name, address, employer, bank, etc. and you have just verified whether you are worth a lawsuit or just harassing collection calls and letters.

- CW| 1 replyFRAUD! FRAUD! This is definitely a scammer for this family. "Payroll" checks" were sent to a naive grandson for total of over $6000. Thankfully he caught on when they wanted gift cards sent back to them from these checks for "overpayment". We have spent the better part of the morning with fraud divisions to get his accounts rectified. This entails changing all his accounts. Closing and reopening new ones. PEOPLE, NOTHING IS FREE, IT ALL COMES WITH A PRICE! And the saddest part is possibly the person the emails were from was scammed as well with the use of their account. FRAUD! FRAUD!

After depositing the ck, they began requesting $ back. Thankfully the large transaction amt caused the bank to send me an act alert $ I was able to stop her before the process continued any farther. KIDS HAVE NEVER BEEN TAUGHT THIS STUFF, THEY ARE VERY VULNERABLE! With that said, their financial mistakes can cause us, as parents big mistakes! PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO TALK TO YOUR KIDS ABOUT THIS STUFF BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!!
