We are on the do not call list.  That means DO NOT CALL.

They've called twice so far today.  I work in an office where I can't have my cell so on breaks I check it.  No message.  I'm not calling back and figure it's the same as above.

If you do business with a company, they are exempt from do not call list rules.
Also charities and political calls exempt.

They hung up when I started to ask questions.

They call several times a day. My daughter asked to take a message since I wasn't at home - the lady was very rude, refused to identify who she was with and hung up! I know it's Discover Card and I have a good mind to close my account with this company. If I wanted to hear about your new programs, I'd call and ask about them until I do just leave me alone!!!!  I never pay late and always pay off my balance in full when I get the statement.  I am so sorry I ever opened an account with them.
I feel sorry for those who are struggling to pay  even the minimum to this company - they must harass you hourly!

This number rang and some woman said my husband's name and then said "Chuck, Saturday night at 7:20 pm would be a good time for him". I didn't know if she meant a good time to call for him or what.

Is this is a credit card company and have they done this before to anyone???

How old does this lady sound and does she talk really fast. She talked so fast that we could hardly hear what she said, just asked if 7:20 pm on Saturday night would be a good time for him? We also have a Discover card under my husbands name. I wasn't for sure what she meant or who this even was. Has this ever happened to you?

My wife and I have received unwanted calls from Discover Card representatives who ask for someone with a different surname but with our telephone number, i.e.we answer and say "yes, that is my telephone number, but neither I nor anyone living here has that name." Then the "rep." asks for our post-mail address, becomes very aggressive and rude, and does not take "no" for an answer. It happens daily at around dinner time.

We assume that it is a telemarketer call.

We do not have any relationship with the company.

I have started to get repeated phone calls from this company. I don't answer the calls and they don't leave any messages.

It seems quarterly, Discover card calls with promotional offers.  Unfortunately, they call and call and call until they get the card holder.  One day alone, they called 8 times!  Today, when the lady asked when they could reach the card holder, I said, "Why? you guys never pay attention my response... a different rep will just call in a half an hour!"  She said she will note the time. Well, the calls did reduce to just 2 instead of  8.  So, the next call did come in, before the time I told them, and I did say, "I had specifically told the caller after 6"  the male rep said, "oh, I see the note at the end... sorry" and I just hung up.

After that no calls.

Seems like a solicitation of some sort.  Not sure who in the house has a discover card if that's the caller. I use bank of America and Visa
Picked up a few times never was any response..  We just ignore the number now.
Called 12 times in the last 7 days, and has been calling for about a month.  Rather aggressive for not wanting to have a chat.

i say we all get together and sue.  this is annoying.

I think we should all log on to their online live chat support and try selling them things that we have laying around the house and don't want anymore.  See how they like it when we solicit to them and waste their time and resources.   Or call 1-800-Discover to do the same.  They pay for the phone call, they see your number...so in time they will get annoyed enough to stop calling you when the cost to support us outweighs the benefit they are receiving from those who buy their crap.

Just as I answered the phone, they hung up.  So, I went on line to try to find out who was calling.  From the entries on this site, I guess it was Discover.  I do have a Discover card and they do call with offers.

I called them back and got “Thank you for calling Discover Card” and then I hung up. I’m on the US DNC registry and I’ve never done business with Discover Card nor any of their affiliates, so they have no right to call me. I’m going to answer them the next time and scold them.

You file an online complaint w/the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
I would suggest that anyone being harrassed by this company do so. I have just submitted my complaint now.
