- ton| 2 repliesCharges will be filed felony for bank fraud. And said warrant will be issued in my name . in Ohio if I don't pay them. But police department said it sounds like scam. But what they said it is real felony charge. Title 18 section 1344
- Caller: advance
- Elspeth replies to tonTotal scam. IF you had committed bank fraud, you wouldn't hear about it via a scammy phone call. You'd get a visit from the police. Do yourself a favor - block the number (or ignore it) and report these losers to your state's Attorney General.
- TerriSame phone call for me. Saying I was being charged with 2 felony charges for bank fraud in another state and they would be filing felony charges in Lane County, Oregon tomorrow. I told them nice try and hung up.

- AimeeI received a call stating that they were going to file bank fraud charges against me the next day by 11 am for something that supposedly happened over 4 years ago. They said they would have the sheriff arrest me and take me to jail and I would have to sit there until arraignment. I did some research and also googled the numbers that I had and this information popped up.
- Caller: Michelle Johnson 877-465-6078.
- Karen PollyCalled and said felony charges were being brought against me and I was going to be arrested.

- MaeWe got this call saying there were 2 felony warrants pending for my brother and to call Crystal Collins at 1-877-465-6078. I can not find any warrants for him in the .gov site where i have found them when he has been in trouble before and any contact i have ever had in dealing with any of his troubles have been a direct oklahoma line and never an 800 number. very suspect. I am guessing he has called them and they told him he needs 777.00 to make it go away because he texted my mom asking for that amount. He hasnt returned a call yet so we can get to the bottom of it. i have advised him to call the sherriff dept directly.
- Caller: Crystal Collins
- SheriMy middle daughter received a voicemail on Monday evening saying that they were looking for me cause they have 2 felony complaints and they were going to come to my house or place of employment along with the local sheriffs dept and detain me. Then my oldest daughter received a voicemail from a California state processing saying that they have a bank fraud and that they were going to issue a felony warrant for me. First of all they don't call you to warn you about something like this. You would get served court papers. I haven't had a bank account in over 15 years and I closed it with no balance.

- CWG40 replies to tonScam. Just a debt collector trying to scare money out of you. Warrants are issued by judges. Period. Warrants are only used in criminal cases and only issued to duly constituted officers of the law and are served in-hand by duly constituted officers of the law. Being in ordinary civil debt is NOT a crime and you cannot be prosecuted for it. We do not have debtors prisons in the US.
Title 18 section 1344l of US Code refers to bank fraud. If you were suspected of that crime you'd have already been interviewed by members of law enforcement on a face-to-face basis. You would NOT have first heard about it from some scammery-scummery
debt collector who cold calls you and starts demanding money. Debt collectors have nothing to do with law enforcement and have no influence on what the law enforcement authorities do, or do not do.
Report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.) The same goes for endless telephone harassment
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because, being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking), the only thing they understand. - CWG40 replies to BreezeDebt scammers. So you received a summons and went to court?
BUT you never received the mandated Validation Notice via snailmail?
And you were "found" two weeks after the call, but the law allows 5 days for the Validation Notice + 30 days to respond.
In order to believe your tall tale, we need the details from the document with which you were "served". However, you need not give us your name. All the details are now "public information", so you can freely tell us.
Give us the details at the top of the document:
Court name and location, the name of the judge, the plaintiff's attorney's name (and Bar number if possible), the name of the company or person that sued you, the date you were supposed to appear, and possibly a docket number.
Can you do that, to prove your statement, or did I ask for too much information?
(If you fail to reply, there would be a strong suspicion that you are merely shilling for the subject company)

- Michael Brookssaid it was Rachel Williams calling about 2 felony warrants will be issued and the police will be by to detain me if I do not call back right away. Thing is I know there is no way there would be any charges filed, as I have done nothing illegal and they don't call you before hand. I was in trouble plenty as a youngster and there was NEVER any warning like this, total scam and crap.
