American Express telemarketer offering business services

Called.  Left no message.  I should be on the no call list and should not receive a telemarketing call

Called my business around lunchtime- they hung up on the machine - no msg was left.

they called at 5:17 AM and then did not leave a message.  we should be on the no call list.  this is so not okay!

Called at 4:42 P.M to my office...they left no message.

called lunchtime, total scam, asking for all types of info claiming to be amex. when i refused lady hung up on me. i called the number back rang and an answering machine picked up. sounded totally bogus. dont give them any information!!!

I received this call today and they claim to be American Express.  They asked to update our information.  I told her "Shouldn't you have all our information already?".  Her answer was "We don't have access to account information . . ."  What?
She asked for our current company address and who the financial decision maker is . . . I gave her our address (stuff you can find out by looking at a phone book).  Great we'll probably get more phone calls and junk mail!

Recieved a call at 12:34 today, they said they were from American Express and wondering if we are card holders. They wanted to update our information and make sure it was correct. So I say "You tell me what you have on file and I will let you know if it is correct." The response I got was "Well I cannot disclose that information for privacy reasons." Funny isn't it?

I wouldn't give out the information and that was the end of that.

Called me claiming for security reasons they needed to update their data base with information about: my company name, who is the decision maker... I told the lady that they should be able to tell me and I could confirm Y/N... she said she didn't have that inforamtion.  I told her I didn't trust her and that I could call myself, she said I could call back at the 877-471-4030 number.  I just called the real AMEX, they do not have that # in their database.

A woman just called saying that she was calling on behalf of American Express and for security reasons wanted to update our address and know the name of the decision maker, same as others have reported.  First of all, why on earth would Amex have 3rd party companies cold calling its customers on their behalf?  Don't they know that people are weary of scammers?  Is this some kind of test?  Whatever it is, I smell a rat!

I received a call today from Mary Murphy at 877-471-4030.  I got a call last week from someone else claiming to need to confirm our address and who our primary decision maker is.  I told her that I did not trust her, and she told me to logon to www.open.com/verify and put in the code 8840 and I will see that West Business Services of San Antonio where she is claiming to call from, is an approved vendor from Amex.  I am going to contact Amex with this info, but I am still very skeptical, especially after reading the above messages.

Just got a call from this number...I asked the woman what my name was and she couldn't tell me...

Other then that I have no small business with American Express...

Got a call... same as the rest. Anytime a caller calls on behalf of know that they are a telemarketer. She called saying that she needed to verify info and that the call is being monitored for security purposes and if i could verify info. I told her no and to take us off their list. They will not get any info from me. HA

got at call from a person claiming to be from american express she wanted detailed information like my tax id, ssn etc. when asked what she needed the information for she stated to verify my account. she then told me to go online to verify that she was with american express.

They call me 5 times a day & never say anything as well as a bunch of other 877 numbers.  It gets old

Yes Amex has handed off a ton of their accounts to West Business Services or WBS.  Amex is extremely happy with WBS because they are creating a lot more REVENUE for AMEX.  In fact right now Amex is the LARGEST part of WBS and WBS is hiring for it like crazy - also firing like crazy as you have to be one pushy tough cookie to do it! I worked briefly for WBS in another dept, though it wasn't much better.

I filed a complaint against a direct supervisor for misconduct and surprise I was fired shortly thereafter.

So if you don't like these calls from WBS I suggest that you contact AMEX as they have NO intention of stopping WBS from making them LOTS of money.
