- Gale replies to izaWhat does GVA mean and why are they passing themselves off as Federal Employees? If they are debt collectors that is illegal and if they are contacting family members that is really illegal
- JoseGVA is Genesee Valley Association- debt collector. They totally misrepresent themselves in pursuit information. They are bottom line--scum debt collectors. Do not call back this number.
- JoseAnd what happened to "Jesus's" reply. Zombie Debt collector might be to offensive for GVA?
- GVA| 1 replyCan't tell you what GVA mean for fear of getting fired and putting family in harm--get real!!
- EnnCeeOh replies to GVAIt stands for G*nts, V*ginas, and *sses.
- Judy| 1 replyMy mother, Beverly Henkel, just got a call from these people. This is a woman who pays all her bills the day they come in the mail. I can not imagine where they have gotten her name to harass her.
- Caller: GVA
- JudyYes, my mother just got one. Here is a woman that pays her bills the same day she receives them. I stated doing some research & came upon this site. What I have found out disturbs me.
- Gale replies to JudyThis business buys old business from credit card companies and banks for pennies. They could be old debts that were paid off years ago. If they start making more calls, record them. Ask for proof in writing, keep recording. They misrepresent themselves and that is illegal.
- MSRACEWALKERWe have received several messages to return a call to this number and ask for Maria Boyd. After several calls, my husband and I did return the call because we were tired of getting messages. When we called, we were told that Maria was gone for the day, but the person who answered said she had the file and could talk about it to us. They were supposedly looking for someone with a completely different name than ours. We have had our phone number and lived at this address for 11 years. This sounded odd to us because they knew my husband and my name and kept leaving messages for us. My husband asked why they were looking for the person and we were told that it was a personal matter.

- micheleReceived a call from Rochester NY phone # 585-273-6412 in reference to a womans name that I do not know. They left a file number and a phone number of 1-877-471-7847 to call back. I called and got a recording.

- MaThis call was directed to my husband and referred to our ex-daughter-in-law and gave a file #. We have no intention of returning the call and I'm fairly sure this is an illegal attempt to collect on an OLD UN-PAID BILL which TOPPED the cause for the divorce! I've deleted the message off our phone and hope they don't try again!!

- Lawrence| 1 replyThese dirty excuses for a debt collecting agency seriously know how to harass someone. I had a credit card debt, to the amount of $5000, which I paid off in full in October 2008. These cretins have been contacting me, insisting that I have not paid off the bill and threaten to take me to court and get bailiffs to my house. BRING IT ON!
I have absolutely no idea how or why these bunch of low lives are harassing me over a debt I've already paid. I mean, do they seriously expect me to give them another $5000 just to pay the wages of the scum they have working for them? Christmas is around the corner and for once in my life, I have money to make it enjoyable for everyone. They can take me to court, as I have every single scrap of evidence that proves I have already paid this debt. It will be them who gets it in the ass, not me.
Someone needs to do something about these people, because the amount of times they call me is horrendous. All hours of the day, and I've even had calls in the middle of the night from people who threaten to get bailiffs to my home. I have now gotten into the habit of disconnecting my telephone in the night because the calls often wake my 2 year old son up. It's like these cretinous debt collection agencies are only interested in feeding their own obsessions for fancy sports cars and designer clothing. The rest of us are dirt in their eyes.
Well I've paid my debt, I sure as hell aint paying it again just to keep their un-educated wastes of life in a job and if they want to take me to court, so be it. I look forward to it, just be on the lookout for a lawsuit to repay me for my legal bills.
Good day.- Call type: Debt collector
- NoneReceived a message and called them back. Apparently, they are looking for someone that I haven't spoken to in 16 years. Asked if I knew how to contact them. WTF? If I haven't spoken to you in 16 years....you really think I know where they're at? Secondly, they asked if they pronounced the name correctly. Well, I don't know!

- a replies to LawrenceBe careful. Get a recorder and record their calls. Make notes of time they call. Document everything as best you can. They can take you to court and if you do not show up--you owe the money again!!
- JP| 1 replyCalled and left a message for my new husband about a file he needs to discuss. The thing I can't figure out is the name on the file he referenced was my ex-husband's father. Bizarre. Why would my new husband by contacted about my ex-husband's family....or their debt??? After reading all of these posts I don't think I will call back.
- Caller: GVA
- Gale replies to JPDon't call back.
- the harrassed!"Doug Patterson" from either Tennessee Valley or Genessee Valley as recorded on this web site states we need to call him back (877-471-7847). He has stated my name on my mom's answering machine. Uh, I haven't used that phone number for over 6 years AND I have not missed a bill payment since 1997!!! It's 2010 Doug! I can't wait to talk to you. I will call him on an internet phone so he won't get my number. Oh, for all of you facing harrassing debt collectors, you have the right to make certain demands on them. They must identify where the debt originates from. They must show proof that they are the ones that you truely owe any debt to (i.e. copies of contracts, etc.). Don't give them any information but do send these demands in a certifiable mail format so that you can sue them if the continue to harrass you. You must also place in your letter the demand for the stop attempts to reach you until they satisify the demands made. If they continue at that point, they can be sued in small claims court, by you and you will win! I love this web site on debt validation: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/debt_validation.shtml
