They left a voice mail message on my cell phone to call them regarding an supposed outstanding debt.  When I called this number back, they had no record of who called or why!!!  The man I spoke to he could not tell me who or what was 'extension 4078' because they were such a large company.  He suggested I wait because 'they will probably call back again tomorrow'.  I can't wait to see if they do and what they want.

This number showed up in my cell phone today. I ignored it figuring whomever it was would leave a message. Not! Minutes later my desk phone in my office rings with the same number! I immediately send the call to voicemail. No message again!

I feel like if they really wanted to get in touch with me they would leave a message. If not, leave me the HE77 alone!!!

I just called the number back and a woman answered as if she was at home with only "hello". I told her this number called my office and she hung up!

This company is called Van Ru Credit Corporation.  They are attempting to collect a debt. You can send them a cease and desist letter to the following address and they have to stop harrassing you:

I finally answered and they told me I have a delinquent Macy's account. I did not give them any information, but informed them that they were calling the wrong person. They provided me with the address, last 4 digits of SSN, and name of a person with my same first and last name (different middle initial). I told them they had the wrong person and they said they'd stop calling, but I just came home and there are more missed calls from them. Are these people legit or is this a scam and they're trying to get account info by process of elimination? Sounds fishy to me. I called Macy's and they didn't seem too concerned....then again, they couldn't understand a word I was saying. Ugh.

I think I finally got this company to leave me alone. I have repeatedly told them that they're calling the wrong person. They're looking for someone with my first and last name (which happens to be a very common name), but I have told them that the middle initial, address, date of birth and social security number that they have are not mine. Previously, they'd say "Okay, we must have the wrong number and we won't be calling anymore"....only for them to call back the next day, and the day after, and every day. They called yesterday and I asked if they were going to stop calling me after he said they must have a wrong number. This time, he blatantly told me that there wasn't anything he could do about it and that I would likely be getting more calls. I asked if he could take my name off of their list and he said no. He said he'd "do his best" not to call me again. I responded with "and my lawyer will do his best" and hung up. Today, I called their corporate headquarters number (1-800-468-2678) and demanded that my number be removed from their entire database. I was told that my number was removed after speaking with one of their representatives yesterday. Apparently, threatening with legal action works because I've told them countless times that they have the wrong person and to stop calling and it's done nothing. The guy I spoke with at HQ assured me that I would not be receiving even one more call from them. If he's lying, I will be in touch with the state attorney general and my lawyer. I suggest calling their corporate number if you are having similar problems rather than dealing with the individual collectors.
