Claiming they are Bank of America and asking that I verify info when I confirmed with BOA they have no affiliation! Be aware!

I received a call from this # as well and I have an acct with BOA. I did NOT answer.

Call all the time never leave a message and hang up.

Man with this # as caller ID called, started to say my name, mispronouncing beginning of my last name then asked me to tell them how to pronounce my name so they could verify my identity. Told him that ability to pronounce my last name wasn't any verification of identity. When I asked what the call was about they wouldn't say.  When I refused to pronounce my name the man got angry, told me if I wanted to know about the call then I could call an 800# he read off too rapidly to write down and then immediately hung up.

Saw other posts mentioning BOA.  Did BOA have a breach of security?  Anyone call BOA re: security breach of customer data?

I got a call at my work number asking for my husband, including his middle initial. They called one of our numbers then straight to another one. WE have an an account with BofA. I just told him wrong number.

this number called me on christmas eve at 8:00pm, i am glad to know that this is a bogus call. Thanks

Fradulent organization pretending to be Bank of America

Called and left a message telling me to call Bank of America. They had called many times before without leaving a message.

I get calls from this number several times a day.  I answered it one day and they said it was Bank of America and asked all these questions that the Bank already has.  When I refused they threatened to f--k up my credit report and they did advice the Credit Reporting Companies but when I talked to the Manager at the local branch of BOA they said the Bank would never do that so know I am dealing with a false report on my credit report!

I got a call from them today. They called my cell and asked for my husband. Refused to say what it was about except that it was "a private matter between bank of america and my husband". Then they asked for me (also butchered my last name like another person just indicated).  Asked for the last four of my social and I said "why don't you give me the first four, and I'll give you the last four?" Said they can't do that.  Then asked for my address, which is easily verifiable, so I confirmed that. Then they asked for the last amount paid on our mortgage, and I said I have no idea. Guy got increasingly rude with me, and eventually hung up. He tried to call my husband's cell right after that but my husband wouldn't pick up.  I'd like to know how they got this information.  Seems like Bank of America had a breech.  

This is BofA debt collection.  They've been calling me due to a mix up on a mortgage escrow account.   Stupid for a bank to call you and ask for sensitive information over the phone but I don't think it's a scam/data breach.

I received a call from This number twice but they did not leave message. I called back and an auto mates voice system claimed they are Bank of America and a debt collector. Right away I knew it was phony!!! I did not give out any informations. Scammers!!! Run!!!

Called the number back and gave them the number on the back of the debit card. After hanging up, called BOA and cancelled debit card. I don't recall any other information I may have verified. There's no way these calls are legit, as unprofessional as BOA can be, the automated call system is too arcane. Wanted acct # or SSN. Wasn't about to give SSN. They'll steal your tax refund in a heartbeat.

I had some sense of confidence calling the # on the back of my card to cancel it.

Nope, not a scam but they are idiots.

Caller claimed to be BoA. I have received calls from the same number in the past. They state your full name (butchered) and ask for the last 4 digits of your social to verify identity. Uh, banks DO NOT call you and ask to verify identity. BoA confirmed they did not call. Do not give personal info to anyone who calls from this number!!!

I am receiving multiple calls from this number each day or a number close to it. I mistakenly answered one the other day and before I realized they were frauds, I asked them a couple of questions. The lady said she was making a note that she spoke to me on this date regarding an account with my name on it. I do not even have a BOA account!

They are calling on behalf BOA! BOA is out sourcing a contractor to collect past debts or if your escrow is messed up. This is who will call when your late on your house payment month after month. If you do not have a BOA account the person who use to have your number did or someone when asked by BOA for there number they gave it. STOP TELLING PEOPLE THIS IS A FRAUD BEFORE RESEARCHING!

(877) 487-8155 calls me and asks me to verify personal information like part of my ss #.  They say they are with Bank of America but there is no caller ID.  I offer to call them back on a Bank of America directory listed line and be transferred back to them. When I ask what number or dept, I should I have boa receptionist transfer me to they hang up.  This is obviously not above board. They are obviously not boa.  If boa was contacting me, it should identify them on caller ID,  they would not be asking for confidential information, and I would be able to call a BOA listing to verify their number is a boa number.

I have been receiving phone calls from this number.  I do not answer, they do not leave a voicemail.  I also receive calls from 877-487-8149 with the same result.

Received a phone call about an hour ago from 877-487-8155, a professional sounding woman left a message stating that there was an urgent matter on my account.  Instead of immediately responding I looked up BOA's contact information on their website to confirm the phone number.  Nothing was wrong with my account, number was random.  The phone call is a phishing scam, just in time for the holidays.  Ugh!
