Well then go ahead and serve me at least I will have some paperwork to look at.. They wanted me to pay them over the phone without any proof.. Good Luck!

- Gary| 1 replySaid his name was Rick Norwood. Said his office had charges and there was a claim against me. He stated I was to call 877-490-6709 and refer to a case starting with RG(123456). He was looking for my home or work address. He called from private number 3 times then left a message. He knew my name but its also in my voicemail greeting (which I will be changing).
- Mary Jo| 3 repliesI was given this number after being scammed on a computer network security call. They said they could give me anti hacking software and 2 years of tech support for $799.99 and professed to be from Malwarebytes. He took control of my computer for about 15 minutes and I'm afraid of what he might have installed on it or downloaded from it. Anyway, he gave me this number after I told him I needed to talk to my son first before I spent this kind of money, and he said I should talk to him and call him back tomorrow.
- Tamianth replies to Mary JoThe only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!

You can download malware bytes free - suggest you make sure your antivirus is still on, then run it, also malware bytes itself. You can also get spybot search and destroy. Both are free on file hippo. - Amy| 2 repliesMy husband was given this number also after a guy name nick got remote access to our computer. My husband called and nick said that people has been trying to hack in to our computer and he could help with downloading something to protect our computer. My husband calls back to tell him that I looked up this number to see if it was a scam and someone else answers and says nick is not there and my husband ask who they are representing he said something I not sure what it was. I told my husband this is a scam don't agree to anything and don't give them any information.
- Bruno| 1 replyThis number appeared on a Norton Alert. Saying to not attempt to remove virus from computer, but to call Norton so your computer will not be damaged.
When you call you are thinking you are speaking to a vender who works for Norton. The ask you if they can take control of your computer to rid you of this attack.
Once they do they try and sell you there IT service. God only knows what they do to your computer and information while they are in control.
It is most definitely a scam or criminal act of some kind

- AnneU| 3 repliesDO NOT FALL PREY TO THIS SCAM.
I called the number that came up as a NORTON virus scan when it appeared on my screen.
He said my computer had been hacked, there was tons of fraudulent activity and that if I paid $300 for the software, he could help me.
I didn't actually get a call from them, but this is the number [(877) 490 - 6709] he gave me to call him back. He gave the name Steve Gibson at ext. 307
I finally realized that it wasn't right, got out of the call and I am still trying to figure out the scope or the damage of what just happened.
I've been calling the bank, credit card companies, etc.
Next, I will call the police.- Caller: NTS Global Services
- Kimberly B| 5 repliesI got a message that popped up on my computer when I was on a website. It said something about suspicious activity on my computer and had a number to call. As I'm not very computer literate, I called the number because I couldn't get the message to go away.
I got a man on the phone and he told me that the message came up because there was something seriously wrong with my computer. He took control of my computer and after quite some time, he told me I needed to have something put in my computer that would cost $300. I told him I didn't have a credit card at the time. He said he put a protection on my computer that would only last 32 hours, but in that time I could buy the protection. Now they keep calling.....
Glad to know this really is a scam. I'm calling GeekSquad. - Steve C| 2 repliesThese jerks tricked my 91 year old mother into allowing them to have access to her computer for about 1/2 hour. My mom called them after her computer froze and their number appeared near Norton Security Info. She called the number and they told her they were connected with Norton Security. They had her reboot her computer, and then give them access. He said is name was Andy Chase, referral number 509. He said he was from NTS. She was seconds away from buying a spy prevention software contract for several hundred dollars when my brother got a hold of her and told her to disconnect and hang up. What is the best way to check the computer for anything he might have done? It seems to work ok now.

- Valerie R| 6 repliesI was working on my computer for a bit before it locked up saying the Norton's detected a virus to please call 1-877-490-6709 and a 1-866-763-1760 I should have known that something was not right. They described themselves as working with NTS Global Services. I was connected with a man named steave gibson Ext 306 and they they work with Norton's and other software companies. Everything seemed to be legit at first. They even showed me a website that looked legit with all there information listed. I was kind of iffy so I panicked. Not thinking I gave them my credit card info and they charged me 99.99 for a onetime fix. Then I started to get leary a little after they gained access to my computer by telling me that I was being hacked by someone overseas that if I did not let them do anything all my credit cards and all my information on my computer will be hacked! and my computer is going to crash! I have never been scammed in my life! But being that I made a rash decision it cost me 100.00! The Tech that was suppose to fix my computer was named austin I just remembered.I tried to call the numbers back that I had but they just rang! I have reported my card as being stolen but I can't do anything till monday morning! I did call the Police also I still might have to file a report after I talk to my bank on monday. I did more research after the fact and that is how I found out I was scammed! I want everyone to know so they don't have to deal with the same mess that I am going through right now! I have an overdrawen account now! Monday morning's Bank trip is going to be one big hot mess! Please anyone if you get a message like that across your computer please don't even bother calling the number that comes up! It is nothing more then people that don't want to make an honest living so they would rather scam people that work hard for there money.I am really upset! Something more has to be done to stop these kind of scams!

- Linda W| 2 repliesI had a little different experience with them. I tried to install a program on my computer and when I called the software company that made it I got someone who told me that my computer had been hacked. They even connected to my computer in DOS and showed me all these other IP addresses that had supposedly hacked my computer. I had to spend $600 to secure it and then it messed up my DVD player. They seemed legit and really tried to fix my computer, but could never fix my DVD player. My computer eventually melted down and I had to buy another one. It was 9 years old so I didn't really question it. I went to call them today to secure my new computer and they don't answer the phone. I remember them telling me that they would not call me and if I got a call from someone claiming to be from them that I shouldn't talk to them. They said that I would have to call them to fix any problems. I was to get a year of tech support for my subscription. Now I can't raise them on the phone. Maybe a good thing that I didn't.
- Caller: They didn't call me
- Linda WI should clarify. When I tried to install the program I mentioned in the beginning of my post it wouldn't install. That's why I called the software company.
- Caller: I was connected to them thru another company
- Neale Myers| 11 repliesI got a message on the computer in the middle of a website advising me to call that number as there was something seriously wrong with my computer. As I am not computer savvy I called back and spoke to Alex Walter at ext 508 and gave him remote access to my computer for about 20 minutes. At that point I felt that I was in over my head and told them I would have my wife call when she returned home. She detected a scam and revoked control of the computer. We changed all our passwords and are hoping for the best that everything will be ok.
