- sue| 2 repliesGot a call from this number to sell me computer virus protection. Said they were from Microsoft ?? Is this true / real ??
- Tamianth replies to sueNo it isn't! Its a scam.. The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face! And be very very leery of numbers when you look to call the real ones, there are fake websites up. Never call numbers from pop ups either, thats scareware.

http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Rid-of-a-Fake-Anti-Virus-Program-%28Scareware%29 - Nancy Cohen| 2 repliesI never knowingly click on ads, etc. or attachments sent to me, but somehow my tablet has become infected. A box pops up that includes the name http://brandonvon and the phone number 877-498-8852. Not calling them, but I also cannot use my Safari. I thought that Apple products were immune to this.
- Caller: Not avail
- Dr. D replies to Nancy CohenSorry to say, Apple is guilty of bending the truth. Immunity has been Apple's big selling point, so they don't want to let the cat out of the bag. Google "Apple malware," "can Macs get infected with spyware" or anything similar and enjoy reading! Apples are safer than PCs, but you still need a good security suite (and rely on their tech support over Apple's). My experience is that most Apple store employees (including the "geniuses") are poorly trained in security and well trained to sell you more Apple stuff.
- William replies to Nancy CohenNo computer is immune to hacking. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either a fool, an obnoxious fan-boy, or is a scammer hoping you will be the next mark to rip off.

The idiot callers are people who cannot get a legit job & are stupid enough to continue their lives as the worst kind of scum !
