I also got a call on a number I have had only 5 days they were looking for an ex- son-in-law they are NCR or National Collections Recovery. My ex-son-in-law had used me as a reference and they ran my background and got my number and called looking for him. when I said did not know where he was and asked how they got my number they said they ran my info and got my number but would not give me their company info I belive they misused the use of o background since he is not part of my life I feel this company is shady when asked them for info got hung up on twice.

My client received a call from 877-573-7692 x 305, a man named Mike, who identified his company only as NCR (National Collection Recovery) who stated they were calling to obtain her address to serve her with lawsuit paperwork regarding a payday loan through The Cash Store.

THAT STATEMENT IS A VIOLATION OF THE LAW.

The law states that a debt collector can only threaten a lawsuit if they have authorization to file one AND filing lawsuits is a normal part of their everyday business practices.

This company is one of those bottom feeders that prey on people that don't know the laws. Don't believe them if they say similar things to you. Their fax number is 855-895-6511. I would suggest faxing them a letter demanding that they cease all collection efforts until they validate the debt is actually owed. If they can't validate it, they can never legally contact you again. If they continue to do so, you should contact the Federal Trade Commission and your state's attorney general's office.

You should know "Mr. Lawyer" that a fax is no good. You have to send a cease letter, by US Mail, with proof of receipt. I sure hope you're not on retainer.

WARNING !!!!!! They are calling from a new number 855-345-9141. I received a call from Josh Buttion at ext. 308 stating they we bring charges against me and I need to give him a credit card for $923. I asked him the name if the original debtor, he refused and demanded a credit card number. I informed him I have a right to request this information he again refused. I asked for his office adders and was informed he can't give it out due to security reasons he would only state he's located in New York. I had the phone number traced and it was from India. The next day someone name Ron Masterson called and said I had 24 hrs to contact Josh with payment or charges would be filed. I called Josh and again request proof and he refused, a real agency and attorney will give you the requested info. I informed him to move forward with the charges haven't heard from him yet.
