    Puzzled
They called my cell phone twice within 2 minutes.  They left a voicemail but content was blank (heard lot of talking noise in background - not sure if a call center or something else).  I called the number back and got a voicemail ("Hi this is Mrs Brown - leave a message and i will get back to you within 24 hours).  I hung up.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

Both of these numbers are connected to Alisha Brown from a Debt collection Agency. (234) 200-1293 and (877)-578-3852.. She wanted to know my Step-Daughter financial income. I haven't talk to my ex-husband or his daughter in over 30 years. I told this Ms. Brown not to use my number and to remove it. I have no information to give even if I knew her financial information I have no idea who Ms. Brown is over the phone and wouldn't discuss it. Peoplesearch.com gives out your information to anyone you were once affiliated with, it could be a family, or in-laws or a neighbor plus give out your phone numbers too. That's how they connected me to my step-daughter. Imagine they did some deep searching. She must owe some big debts.
