    This number called my mom and tried to scam her. They said they were debt collectors and that she owed verizon $750 dollars. They said if she paid $350 now they would take care of it. It was all a scam and Verizon and their collection agency had notjing to do with it!

    Missed a call from (718) 312-0910. I answered their second call 5 minutes later and a man named Jesse said to call Nationwide Ins at 877-595-4318 ASAP. Something about being served, a court hearing that would go on without me if I didn't get in touch with them right away. Gave me a file number. When I asked what it was about, he said calling the number would give me information. I'm skeptical to call!!

    Legitimate process servers do not call to warn you, or to get money from you to stop the process.  They will deliver the notification without warning.

    Also, if you were threatened with an "arrest warrant" via a phone call or email, read this:
    http://news.uscourts.gov/warning-arrest-warrant-scam

    "The warrant is phony. A valid warrant would not be served by fax or e-mail. It would be served in person by a U.S. Marshal or other law enforcement officer."

    "Anyone receiving a fake arrest warrant should contact the FBI or the district U.S. Marshals Office. If there is any question regarding the authenticity of a warrant, contact your district clerk of court."

    They ID themselves as PAS, they said they do "judgment enforcement" and are located in Riverside California.  In reality, of course they are debt collectors.

    Last known address that I can find:

    PREMIUM ASSET SERVICES, LLC
    2414 S FAIRVIEW, SUITE 210
    SANTA ANA, CA 92704
    (714)415-3920

    Another site has reported:

    "This company has several offices, not just at the Fairview St location. They are also at 1820 E Garry Ave #107, Santa Ana, CA 92705 and “Worldwide Asset Recoveries LLC” is at 2641 Hamner ave #209 Norco Ca. They have another office in huntington beach as well. All scam offices ran by James Trent."

    Apparently Trent's employees are considered independent contractors.  So their compensation is based on their own individual performance, they don't get a salary per se.    Which explains a lot of the rudeness and law violations that occur with these companies.

    They called me to tell me there was a complaint against my husband. They wanted me to warn him. They gave me a number to call with a reference number. My husband grabbed the phone and told them there are no warnings with complaints. And they could 've called him directly.

    My husband got a call with a file number as reference. They said he had some sort of legal issue. I called to see what they would answer as, and the answered "Claims and Litigation."  We have no reason to believe that he would have any legal issues. I looked up the number and found this blog. He's also had missed calls from the (718) 312-0910. Sounds fishy to me, if there's anything truly legal, I'm sure there will soon be legal documentation to support it.

    Just got the same type call about owing Verizon over $800.  Told them I had never had a Verizon acct and Traci Anderson tried to tell me that Verizon had bought out all the other phone companies, haha.  Told me I had to settle for $252 today or go to court. Ky Atty Generals office informed me this is a known scam.

    They originally called my best friend & left extremely threatening message that I MUST call them immediately because They were in the process of "serving" me at my work.  This was about 10 minutes before 5pm on Friday, 10-10-14.  Of course they didn't answer when I tried to call back shortly after 5pm & got a nondiscript ans mach (I did not leave a message).  Tried a couple more times getting same ans mach until finally reached Robert who put me on hold for 9 minutes before returning to the line.  I finally pulled out of him that the name of his business was P.A.S. Services (he didn't know what PAS stood for--said he thought it had something to do with the names of the owner's grandkids) and that they were locatedin Riverside, CA.  The purported bill I owed originated in 2005 for land line telephone service, but the story changed from it's being AT&T, to Verizon, to Sprint (finally settled on Sprint).  I insisted upon an itemized invoice, which he claimed had been sent a few weeks ago & I must have tossed it as junk mail.  He also insisted I MUST pay immediately as the "process server" was on his way to my work even as we spoke!  What really upsets me is all of the personal information that they had on me.  WOW!  As I am writing this I just received a call from 718 area code & it was the same people.  I told them that I was currenty in the process of reporting them & not to call me again.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

    •Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    This company called my father's house threatening that if I didn't call them they would serve me with papers. My dad, being older and afraid called me right away. I immediately Googled this number and saw several comments that this was a scam just as I suspected. So I called them back and they attempted to scare me but lost the battle. They claim that I owe over 1K in a Verizon bill which is so inaccurate. They are looking for a weak person to pay the settlement amount so they can gain off someone's hard earned money. Well, it didn't end there either. They called my cellphone asking for the wrong name. Maybe as they go down their list of victims they should use a ruler so they say the correct name. Despicable.

    We also got a phone call from this number and when they were pressed for what their company name was they kept saying "I don't have time for this, I have other customers in line waiting to be helped". I continued to press them, and they refused to give a company name and continued to state that they were from the claims and litigation department and eventually hung up on me.
