Got a missed call/voicemail from this number. iPhone flagged it as “Scam Likely.” That’s Red Flag #1.

Caller claimed I had a “complaint” filed against me and that I or “my attorney” needs to contact them. Googled the number and the Department of Veteran Affairs came up— and the number wasn’t even actually listed, it was just a similar number. Red Flag #2– if it were a real law firm, then the number would have directed me to their website immediately.

Also, Red Flag #3 (albeit this one was subtle): the guy paused for about three seconds before he said my name. This indicates it was either (a) an AI voice mass-calling random people, or (b) an actual person reading names off a list without having any clue who they were talking to. A real lawyer wouldn’t have hesitated to say my name because he’d be calling with my paperwork in-hand ready to go, already knowing exactly who he was talking to.

Thus, I think I can safely say this is a scam attempt.

I too got a call today about a complaint for my brother. Is this real?

I received a call for myself. I'm assuming the Credit Card I had from years ago has expressed so form of interest in filing papers on me with my County. People were very nice I spoke to. I asked them to verify my entire SSN after they gave me the last 4. . . and they were correct. I'm just waiting for them to send me some kind of Validation Letter before I just up and pay it back.

I completely thought it was a scam when I received a call  but once they broke it down to me with the last 4 of my social and my place of employment I couldn't continue to deny it because everything in me wanted to but I remember doing it and i just didnt want to take care of it . But I did because at the end of the day, the place I borrowed money from didnt have to lend me the loan in the first place! My Representative was very nice and stayed very professional with me even though I was giving him a hard time. This is a legit  and i have all my documentations. They got me a great deal and I couldn't be more satisfied and relieved.

I received a call from this number today asking for my brother in law who I do not have contact with. So strange.
