keep getting a recording to call back this number for a sally mae acct. but we don't have any loan through them

This number has called me multiple times a day and leaves a voicemail stating that it is Sallie Mae and to call them back. The first call I assumed it was because I forgot to pay them (a few days late) and after submitting the payment they are STILL calling.

This is Sallie Mae collection department, check to see if you have a payment due or late.  This is legit.

Call me 6 times in half day and its just a recording msg... .thank you but I already checked your important information online for 10 times!!! stop calling!!!!!

How many times will you allow them to call before you obtain a call blocker?  Google (or your favorite search engine) is your friend.

Your caller is not affiliated with this phone number look-up site and will never see your demand. Try a call blocker instead of random posts on the internet.

Someone called just asked to call back but not leaving any information but this number.

I have a loan with them so they are calling me, my payment is due.

They didn't leave a message. And since it's a 877 number I assumed it was Sallie Mae and went to check on my loan. the second half of a payment didn't go through so  it became past due. I pay half at the start of the month and the second half on the due date.
Really hope they don't spend Christmas eve and Christmas calling because I only have half the amount in my account and money won't be transferred in until the 27th. So this'll be fun if they shall call again. I hope the partial payment I made after the call is enough for them to chill until after Christmas.

This is a legitimate call from Sallie Mae. I completely forgot to make my payment on my student loan a few days ago, so this was a good reminder.

The site is designed to allow people to alert / warn others of fraudulent phone calls by sharing their call experience, so why would  anyone need to be alerted or warned about legitimate callers?

Keep in mind, just because a number MIGHT be legit, doesn't mean the caller is!

Scammers spoof legitimate numbers to trick people into a false sense of security to answer their calls and attempt to get money or personal information from you.
This is why no one will encourage others to report of legitimate callers, as they only confuse people into believing it is a legit call when a scammer has called them and they come here to find out about the call.

People who get legitimate calls would know its legitimate and have no reason to come looking up the number.
800notes is about exposing scammers, shady businesses and harassing type calls from debt collections, surveys, political and telemarketers or anyone who scams, lies or cons people.
People come to share those experiences to help each other understand who is bothering them and share what information they can to help point a finger at those criminals. The data is useful in knowing the frequency of the calls and even allow someone enough info to research towards getting a company's background history towards legal action.

The idea is to stop criminal callers, but posting about legitimate calls will not help anyone stop them. Sure people want to know who called and it could have been a legitimate call, but it only takes one post with confirmation of who the legitimate owner is to establish if its a call you can decide was legitimate for you. The fact that scammers can spoof ANY number is enough to say that even legitimate numbers have scammers who call pretending to be legitimate, so you just don't really know who is calling.

Shills will come here to post about the number being "legit" and try convincing people to answer the call so they can scam you.  So why help the criminals by posting about your call being legitimate? It has no impact on a legitimate business, only the shady ones and thats what we want to expose. Your legitimate post will only add confusion for others who read posts by those who shill about using the numbers they spoof.

exactly not even on Saturdays or Sunday.  Sallie Mae is not a scam but the customer number start with 1-800 not 877.

this is not correct.  I do not have any type of account with sallie mae and they keep calling me and my husband, day and night.  This number has been reported.

This number keeps calling and calling, I refuse to answer, we have caller ID and if this is legitimate then it should say so. I will not pick up for out of area, or toll free or I like this one "invalid number" It just gets very annoying when the phone rings and rings.

Asked for my social security number. I am afraid they now have it.

We are a business.  There are no student loans from here.  We have been getting calls from this number for several months now.  When not here, they call and leave message to call Fannie Mae.  Not wasting time when it's obvious we owe them nothing.

Called me twice on a Sunday. I picked up the first time but no one spoke so I hung up. Called me a second time and I let it go to voicemail. They didnt leave a message though. I will be blocking this number on my phone now
