yep,  very rude,  any ideas who it is?

I received a call from a friend who had just received a call. The caller said he was with ARC and was looking for me regarding a claim and provided a claim number. My friend didn't provide any info and the rep said for him to let me know he was trying to contact me and to call him back.

I believe this phone number is for an employment verification and asset liability investigation company which to me is a threatening way for an illegal debt collection company to trick people into calling them.

There was no link between my friend and I such using him as a reference  or emergency contact. The only business connection we had was he agreed to co-sign a loan app for loan consolidation several years ago with the Financial Services Dept. of a major national bank. The local reps assured me the loan would be approved, but ultimately it was denied. Apparently, the underwriting requirements were changed within 48 hours after I submitted the app.

The ARC rep had to dig deep to find that connection. I wonder why they are going to all this trouble when all they have to do is look up my credit report to obtain my mailing address.

Oh, well! Who can explain these Glittering Jewels of Colossal Ignorance? Are they idiots, morons, or imbeciles or better yet, linking this bottom-feeding leach to that portion of our population is an insult to them.

I plan to continue to ignore them. What do others think?
