This number was a recorded person talking about the service of documents for a lawsuit saying if I did not comply at the end of the day they would be required to continue without my participation. Sounds like a scam

You're right, it IS a scam. REAL process servers don't call in advance.

I actually answered the call and pressed 1 as directed. They had my name, address, previous employer and vehicle information. Said they would garnish my wages and put a lien on my home and car. When I asked what is was for the claimed I owe US Bank $4000.00 but could not tell me from when or give me any details about this "debt".

You can't just "garnish wages and put a lien on a home and car".

Whenever someone tells you that they are a "lawyer" or that they work for a lawyer or law firm, the first question you should ask is what state(s) they are registered in and their BAR number for that/those state(s).  Then go to that state and check them out, contact them directly using the information in the state registration, as these crooks have been known to research real law firm names and attorney names and impersonate them.

  It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter, email, or text (postmarked in the case of a letter) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. Unless they have communicated it to you verbally at the beginning of your conversation.  It also must contain the “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this communication must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that communication you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

Answered this with an automated recording saying they're trying to deliver certified documents to me. I have no debt except my mortgage and I've been getting a few of these same calls from different numbers over the last week or so. Scam AF.

I have been getting these calls for the past month. This is the new scam after auto warranty.

Can't tell you how many calls I've received with the same (or very similar) scripts for the person calling to read. I don't answer unknown calls. Deleted the message. Reporting it to the FCC as well as here.

They left me a message and so I called back. They said they have documents for me to be delivered, but had my old information. I hung up. If any documents need to be sent it can be certified mail or by a constable. I believe it's a scam!

I received the exact same voice message. Explaining that if I was not available to sign for the documents they would proceed without me. I did not answer the phone, however I did listen to the voicemail. I did not extend communication further than that as this is not how any type of collection works. But thought that I would share my story so that others are aware of the scam. It should also be noted that upon doing a reverse lookup for this number there is no location available. But the number is made on a mobile broadband line.
