call twice everyday

Recieved a call at 10:30 pm stating it was an interperator for a deaf person. The person was looking for a Person with my same first name. It was supposedly about an email conversation that was about a very vague subject. When I questioned the conversation by stating that he had the wrong number. I asked who they were looking for again and they gave me my first name and then an incorrect last name. I again told them that they had an incorrect number. He then gave me my correct last name and refered to an email conversation about an item that I had from an inquire on craigslist.com. I had made one for something on craigslist but it wasn't the item that he had stated. I told him that it wasn't that item but another item. He then corrected himself. I toldhim then that i felt that he wasn't being honest as I felt as though I was being scamed. I told him good night and hung up.

It was not a scam.  I am an interpreter for phone calls.  What you received was a video relay call.  It is very possible that the interpreter was not interpreting what the deaf caller was saying correctly and so it seemed that the deaf person was being dishonest.  I apologize on behalf of the relay operator/interpreter.  Please do not be hesitant to take calls in the future from video relay operators.  We are a true service, and are federally funded by the FCC. There are many different companies such as Sorenson, CSD, Sprint relay, Hands on Relay, etc.  Go ahead and look them up.  You will see we are quite legitimate.

its a relay service. its for deaf/hard of hearing people. so if you know someone who is deaf its ok to answer the phone. its not a bill collector or a telemarketer.

Call from 877-717-1491, no one there. Called the number back several times and all I get is a recording, something about children and music playing, sounds spanish. I'm wondering who else is using this number???
