Got call but leave no message , Called back voice said it's some kind of news papper

If I can answer before the second ring: "This call is from (blank), to accept the call press 1, to leave a message press 2.". If I press 1 i get: "I'm sorry, they have disconected.". If I press 2, I am disconected. When I call back I only get instructions on how to be removed from thie phone list. Doing so has proven to be a waste of thim as the halls continue, month after month, rarely missing a single day

This number is a solicitation and no one answer the phone.  When you pick up your phone to answer the caller hangs up the phone.

They have called my number 21 times in the last month.  I have answered & told them to take me off the list once.  They continue to call.  I called the number back & entered my number after pressing 1 to be taken off of the list.  Not 1 min later, the same number called me back.  I tried to explain my frustration to the guy on the line (he sounded very unprofessional - lots of background noise of other callers).  He said the there are several locations all trying to sell a local newspaper - he was in Florida.  He could take me off of the Florida list but that won't stop other locations from calling me.  He said all locations will show up with the same phone number but you have to contact all of the them for the calls to stop.  I asked to speak to his supervisor & he told me both were on another call.  I then said again to be taken off of "his" list and hung up.

Have received calls almost daily for many months from this and other numbers that display "800 Service" on caller ID.  I never answer; callers never leave messages.  I'm afraid that if I answer, the barrage will only increase.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.

wow, i just got a call now 1st time! since all of you said the callers are offering newspaper subscriptions but from different places, i suppose they're gonna offer me a local one too - san diego!. my guess is that there's ONE company that GOT OUR TEL. NOS., and this company is selling our nos. (telemarketing database) to different newspaper companies! now how do we stop this, i wonder?

use the "Mr. Number" app on your phone.  It can block unlimited numbers.

Calls continue from same number (see 3rd entry above).  This time I answered call and immediately leaned on one of the number buttons until the caller disconnected.  Let's see if it does anything.  I don't have high hopes.

I followed the instructions left by the other posters regarding this number and got my number removed from the call list --- hopefully.  It asks to verify your phone number.  In this world of caller ID, I find that step unnecessary and feeding the automated system my phone number again made me a bit nervous.  I have a Sacramento Bee subscription (McClatchy paper) and I have asked them repeatedly to remove me from their call list.  I hope they didn't take the liberty of putting me back on the call list when I renewed.  It may be my town newspaper... who knows.

Added them to my telemarketer list. No one gets through that. Here is the recipe:

1. Get a google voice number.
2. Get android phone using the number that keeps getting called.
3. Set up a Telemarketer contact.
4. Set that contact to go straight to voicemail.
5. Add all telemarketer numbers to the contact.

Any future telemarketers only get one shot to contact you.

I too received numerous calls from SME. I was able to reach the owner, Mr. Stacy Bagal, of Strategic Marketing Enterprises by dialing his cellular number of 480-650-9398. This is the number that is on one of the filings with the Florida Secretary of State so its public record. I'm also currently involved in a lawsuit against SME in federal court in Chicago. About 3 months ago I started getting calls from this number and did not answer it. It contuined for 2 months, then it stopped. It's now Feb. 2011 and it started again. Get this, last month I got on the do-not-call list.

I get called just about everyday from 877-718-4934. This has been going on for 3 months. Why can't this be stopped. It is so annyoing

I continue to receive calls from 877-718-4934 every day and I am sick of it. I want whomever is calling me from the his number to stop!

Also have begun receiving calls from this number. I live in Chicago area.

No message - but calls frequently.  Invariably, I never get a person.  So I finally just put it on my "blocked or rejected" list, right on the phone.  Easy enough to do!  Only thing, it doesn't last very long!  I assume it is a telemarketer, because they don't leave a message.

I called Stacy Beagle and left him a long voice mail heh heh!

Have been receiving calls from this number for weeks.  Today, answered and the message was a reminder for another person about a Mission Hospitals appointment.  I called the number back and got the same recorded message about the newspaper subscription.  Pretty weird!!
