877-731-3451 - This number is Associated Bank Activation Service calling.  On my phone they left a prerecorded voice mail wanting me to confirm receipt of my debit/credit card that had recently been mailed to me.  They don't want you to give information over the phone, the call is to remind you that you should have received your card in the mail and to call the number on the card activation sticker.

This is not from Associated Bank. I called the Bank to check and it is not their numbers or something they would do. Its a scam, hoping you have an account so they can get your information.

    Interesting
Received a call from 877-731-3451.  Since I didn't recognize the number I didn't answer.  They called my cell.  So far they didn't leave a msg.  I see other posts that it's from Associated Bank.  I bank with Assocated Bank.  LOL, I love "screwing" with those that think I'm going to give them my personal banking information :-).

Got call from them today too.. its the second time.. in a month or so , I also have ass. Bank account . It is getting to the point that you pretty much should not answer unless you already know the caller. The Bank tie-in in very suspicious though.

This is Associated bank card Activation Service. It is not an unsolicited phone call. They do not want any information over the phone. I work for this bank and can confirm that this is the number you would call to activate any debit cards as well as change your PIN number. It is an automated phone service.

I truly doubt it is really from Associated. I got a call yesterday. My card doesn't expire til 17 so it wouldn't be activation. I hung up and checked my account on-line to see if possibly it was checking about any fraud charges but there wasn't anything I didn't know about.

It is, indeed, Associated Bank's automated reminder to activate a new card. It is not a scam to get info, as they don't ask for any info over the phone, only ask you to remember to activate your new card before the old one expires.

This is not Associated Bank.  When you call the number back they ask you at activate your debit card and ask you to enter all 16 digits of your card number.  I hung up and called my bank branch and they said they would ask for only the last 4 digits.  This is a phishing scam.

Basically if you are ever in doubt about a call that came from your bank, automated or otherwise, hang up the phone. pull out the real debit or credit card you have look on the back for the customer service 1-800 number and then call that number for assistance never accept assistance from an inbound call from your bank as there are so many different ways for other people who do not work for your bank to make it sound official. that is what I do. I use the official number and never have issues.

I called the phone# on my card, and the customer service rep told me this is NOT Associated Bank.  She said you would never receive an automated call from them.

I do have an Associated Bank account, and I do have a new card that I haven't activated, so it is possible that this is the sort of reminder call that the report from 8/17/12 references.  I did not answer the call, so I don't know for sure what I would have heard, but the call and the 800Notes report do serve as a good reminder about the card!

This is from Associated Bank regarding debit card activation. This is the same number printed on the sticker that came on the card when it arrived.

They called my cell phone twice. When I answered the second time, there no response to my "hello?". I do not bank with Associated Bank.

I can confirm this. I received this call a couple of weeks after receiving my new debit card but not activating it. The number that called is the same number listed on the card to activate it.

I contacted Associated Bank. They confirm the number belongs to them, and is for automatically authenticating new debit cards.

Turns out I had received a new card when my old one neared expiration. For some reason, the automatic authorization record was not retained. My old card and new card were both active. Associated says I was receiving a call because my old debit card was still active.

Go figure. Sounds like a bug in their system to me.
