I smell a scam!!!

My father receives and pays my hydro and has for years, he does not reside here and Hydro 1 would not have my phone number (no reason)! As well, my phone number cannot be found, I use the "magic jack". I will try this number but I trust you will check this out. Seems some in comments feel uneasy, as well....

They phoned 5 times today at 1 hour intervals, first day that they have called.  Absolutely no idea who it is as their name doesn't show up, just the phone number.  And they never left a message.  When the "F" are these companies, or whoever it is, going to realize that we're not that gullible to answer phone calls if we don't know who it is.   Just leave a message and we'll get back to you.  No message, no reply.  Hopefully whoever these "con artists" are will follow this thread.  Yeah right, what's the chances of that.  If it in fact is Hydro One then shame on them.  But I guess they can't control what happens in Sri Lanka.

Verified as Hydro One. They call to notify of overdue accounts from this number. Best not to ignore if you want your electricity to keep flowing and not have your account go into collections!

I have received this number alot in the last 24hrs. If you say it is HYDRO ONE  that is shame on them. I have been making payments on my Hydro.  IF ANY BUSINESS CALLS THEY SHOULD ALWAYS LEAVE A Message, WHO THEY ARE, COMPANY AND TOLL FREE NUMBER TO CALL BACK.  I have Magic Jack work for a Company, people don't answer my calls because  one Magic Jack for me doesn't show my company name, i have got hung up on cause people think im a scam, so i try to make sure they have company name and number so they can call in check to see if I am who I say who I am.  Someday I should google my work number and see what people say about me. I am only reminding people of things that are helpful to them. I have flipped out when people call me and ask for my spouse when they are a 3rd party for a major company we deal with so they say. I said please don't call here again we don't want what you are selling. Sorry thats my ramble when people call  non stop no info.

Received this call and heard an automated recording from Hydro One asking to please call at earliest convenience. When I returned call, I was told it was a courtesy call from Hydro One about a slightly overdue account.

Please call at hydro one at my earliest convenience.    We do not deal with hydro one so it is clearly a scam.   I will be calling the company I deal with when they open up to let them know about this scam going around to their clients.

I'd call hydro one rather than your hydro provider...im sure your provider doesnt care

It is Hydro One. Calling on overdue accounts. No scam. Not asking for credit card or other financial information.

I was receiving calls from this number listed as a call from the United States. So I didn't answer. After months a message wAs finally left saying it was a courtesy call from Hydro One. US number calling me in Ontario about my Canadian service that we are charged double for in this "great" province of Ontario??? And when I went to make a payment by debit visa I was advised of an additional fee for using visa. Who exactly is taking my money and providing my service.

Called at 2 am Mountain time (I live in Alberta so it was 4 am Ontario time) but said absolutely nothing when I answered. Called back and the recording said it was Hydro One but no legitimate company would be making phone calls in the middle of the night.

I received a messsge from this number saying they were hydro one. I was suspicious as I am not overdue with my account and they kept calling. I tried to call them back and it says the call did not go through. A voice messsge says the call failed. So I looked up hydro one and called about my account and they told me my next payment wasn't due til November and just as I thought I wasn't  overdue. They told me they never called and there is no record of any calls made to me. This is a SCAM!!!!! I just hope my calls back did not bill me anything crazy. Be aware people and always check with your company directly.

Do not call that number. Call Hydro One directly if you are conscerned about your bill

This is hydro one. This is simply a direct line to the collections options on their system. I would say that if you are getting a call from this number and you are actually with hydro one to take it seriously.

IT'S A SCAM - Hydro One is unaware and do not own this number. The number is a SCAM number. When you re-call this number, you are re-directed upon selection(4) to the actual Hydro One number. Otherwise, the Scammers are re-directing the customers to a BOGUS attention.
