"an error with the system has been detected" is all is says when I pick up the phone.

Got a call from this number @ 803pm July 28.  Wasn't home to answer.  Called back and recording provided a bit of info.  It also said if you are interested in being a panel member for taking surveys then you should visit their website.

I visited the website.  Company is based in Toronto, ON.  Phone number makes sense now.  18777336385 = 1877RDDNET5

Automated call came from 877-733-6385 and on my answering machine they just said "Do you approve or Disapprove of the Governments Handling of the GM Bail Out? If you Approve Press 1. Disapprove Press 2." ... and then silence .. so I hung up on them.

Caller ID only says Long Distance.

Same as the one above, "Do you aprove.....". Answering machine picked up the line since the ID sdhowed ":ong Distance". Asked the same question 4 times and then said it "Detected an error".
I am thinking it's a servey for some Gov. party.
Guess the "Do Not Call List" doesn't apply to them.

We also got a call from same, but it was not the '1-877-'etc; the area code showed up as 77#!?????
It was only through the net that I found out the company name and reading the other comments, I am now wondering what the heck is this place?
We received the taped message on Wednesday, August 26 and we are also in Ontario. I would dearly like to know who commissioned this company to do this survey about the government's handling of the GM bailout. It is a while back now so why now? TJ

the recording also said they were from Form Research or Forum Research
checked out Forum Research but cant find any ties to it

Last night an automated call came from 877-733-6385 and on my company voice-mail they just said "Do you approve or Disapprove of the Governments Handling of the GM Bail Out? If you Approve Press 1. Are they allowed to solicit businesses? How long do they need to do a survey for?

sick of receiving calls from this number.  How can you get them to stop calling.  Being ignorant to them is not helping.  Hanging up is not helping.

How do you get rid of these calls and types of calls, look into a voip service called Vianet, out of Sudbury, and the quality of the call is superb (you wouldn't know it was voip). They have a cool feature of call blocking anybody UNKNOWN, or specific numbers, UNLIMITED times, and all those clowns that call just get a busy signal. I LOVE IT!!!!!!! My call block list must have at least 70 and counting.

But this info is just coming from a datacom technician/business owner that knows the trade, but I just love the feature, similar to Primus, but so far, unlimited #s to the call block list. I own a business, so I universal call forward my main line to the voip lines, and voila, no telemarketing, since business lines are not included in the DNC list. Am I losing business because of this, probably, but anyone that wants to intentionally block their # from my view is probably someone I don't want to deal with, or solicited by. But keep in mind, business is still good and I am still around after 7+ years!!

If you want any more info, contact that company and look into it. I'm not plugging them, as I don't plug anybody's service, but I give credit where credit is due.

My child answered this call an did not have a clue as to the numbers she was putting in and it is very stupid that they have it in a recording system and a child is enthalled at answering question they have no clue as to what they mean!!! The system just kept repeating itself till it got what was to be placed in!! Very bad way to get a person to give a damn!!

GM bailout approval statistic spammer.

I am on the do-not-call list (and it's not expired), so this RDDNET.CA Toronto company is break Canadian law.

1) Auto dialers with automated messages are ILLEGAL in Ontario at least
2) Marketing calls to people on the government operated do-not-call list is also ILLEGAL

Why is this company break these laws? Can I sue them or something? $500 per infraction I've heard somewhere. Ok then, I want my $500. How do I collect?

Whatever you do:  If you receive ANY call asking for you to press any number HANG UP.  By pressing "1" you may be authorizing them to post charges to your telephone bill.  

This scam has been around almost as long as touch-tone phones have.

[***] called me three times using a robo dialer at 8:30pm. First time I hung up right away, second they called back but it didn't register on the display because it was less than about 10 seconds later, third time, they did it again, same result. "I'm sorry I can't hear your answer" said the machine. After that I yelled "[***] off!" and hung up.

I will be reporting these [***] to the CRTC for blatant violations. I'm pretty sure robo-dialers are not allowed under any means at all. They didn't even have their company ID on the caller display
