said he was from microsoft. wanted to help me fix my pc

claims apple support

Today at 3:41 pm, a chat window popped up on my PC while I was surfing the net.

The header said:
PC Support - Microsoft Certified Partner

In the left side header was a photo of a woman wearing a phone headset.
Beneath the photo was the name Molly Jefferson.
Beneath the name it said Microsoft Certified Partner.
Beneath that was the phone number (877) 733-8708

She typed the following: (I did not respond at any time.)

3:41 PM - Hello, This is Molly from PC Support.
3:41 PM - I see that you are an internet user in Pennsylvania. Are you experiencing problems with your PC?
3:41 PM - I am here to help but I highly recommend that you call our toll-free support line (1-877-733-8708), so we can better assist you.
3:42 PM - Hello? Are you there?
3:42 PM - I'm still here to help if needed, but I will have to disconnect from the chat momentarily. Please call in if there is anything I can help with.

At the time, I did not know if this was legitimate or not.
So I came here.
It looks to be a different twist (to me anyway) to the same old scams.
