I think this is a scam.
A guy with an accent left me a message saying that he is Naz Taylor an IRS officer and that somebody had file a complaint against me and something about W2 and return. It wasn't too clear what he was saying I have to listen 5 times. Basically he said If I don't call him back on that number, I will be held legally responsible.

I dealt with the IRS before, I know how they operate. And that's not an IRS number.

This could be one of those long distance phone charge scam.

It is a scam.. extortion scam.  Report the calls to the real IRS here:

•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Hey I received the exact same call a few days ago and the Dude left a voice mail.  Funny thing is that he called my home phone number which I never published to the IRS. Definitely a scam..  Ignore and go on with your life.  IRS agents are not allowed to leave a voice mail with any information. and before they call you they would've exhausted all other communication by snail mail.

Calls on our fax line.  A recording.  "Heee-lo.  I dam from dee IRS.  You are in beeeeg trouble unless you call my associate at blahblahblah."  And then we say, "I think this is a scam."  YA THINK????  Sorry, but, folks, please don't fall for this.  Of course the IRS will exhaust all other avenues of correspondence before sicking a guy from INDIA upon us.  But ... then again ... who knows.  Have a great day!  Back to work.

Got a call from this number.  Message requested that I call 866-316-4084 to resolve or press one to speak to an associate.  Pressed one and got an obvious call center.  I can hear people talking in the background, but my "representative" is obviously on a chai break or something because no one is answering.

6 calls already and the day is young. 5 yesterday. Tried the IRS hot line but overloaded with calls. What to do.

Make that 7. Phone is ringing again

I have an unpublished number and got the same call.  I talked to some people who got the call from  877-740-3392,  one common thing that these people had was that most of them were Dish Network subscribers.  I wonder if the callers got the phone list from Dish Network?
