THIS IS NOT A BANK OF AMERICA phone number - Do Not Give Any Personal Idenitfication to the person on the end of this phone call! BEWARE contact the FRAUD DIVISION of the real Bank of America to report this.....or turn it over to your attorney as I did.  This is a collection agency parading as a legitimate Bank of America department to trick people into giving them the information they want to extract from you in order to collect money.

I received a letter from FAI CARD SERVICES relating to my recently deceased mom.  The letter claims that she owed about $600.  I called the phone number in the letter: 1-877-767-9383 on Friday JAN15, 2010 at about 11:00am Eastern time, (the letter indicated that their hours of operation include Friday, 8 to 6 Eastern)  I got a recording that indicated that they were "unable to take your call at this time".  I called again at 11:20am Eastern time and I got the same recording.  Something is fishy / phishy with this company!

Contact your attorney and have them contact the Real Bank of America Fraud Division and keep documentation of everything. You are being scammed!  They especially prey on recent Decedent Estate notices. DO NO ANSWER THEIR CALLS AND BEWARE OF BOGUS LETTERS THAT COME IN THE MAIL. THEY Do NOT remotely resemble BANK OF AMERICA's Logo letter head or anything. They just copy a pdf form from the Decedent's Probate / Register of Wills. If I am not mistaken they are affiliated with AACCS another pain in the [***] fraudulent collection agency who mysteriously  changes locations.

This is a legitimate department of Bank of America for accounts closed due to the account holder's death.

This caller is a a debt collector from Bank of America, attempting to collect on a default account. In my case, they were looking for someone named Carolynn that must have once had my daughters cell number. The gentleman I spoke to was extremely kind and very willing to remove the number from this persons account so that my 13yr old daughter wouldn't get the call.

I called Bank of America to report the death of my husband and was given this number to follow up on my report.

 I was also given this number from B.O.A. as this is there dept. that handles deaths in the Family .So you can close out   accounts!!

this is a legit number for the Bank of America Estate Department. My line of work involves talking to these people on a daily or weekly basis. They would be calling you in regards to a death of an account holder and you are either listed on the account/mortgage OR you are the Personal Representative of the Estate.

My husband dued in January and owed Bank if America. He had no assets. BOA has filled a claim. Late husband is an heir to a cousin's real estate along with 7 others. I doubt his share will come close to paying his debts.
