I just got a call; lft NO msg.
It's just std ripoff/scam crap that Verizon et all could allow us to blacklist.... simply, easily & for NO real cost to them. THEY (V et al) edit OUR email ==> but do NOT even allow US to stop unwanted calls.
I'm advised that's because they profit greatly by selling our numbers to RO & scam clowns.
Our elected folks should put a stop to it.
Of course they shouldn't allow all these guys to get away a lot of stuff :-) !

I wasn't paying attention when I got a call from this number.  After saying hello (twice), the caller said "hi kevin, I'm .. McKenzie from... are you doing ok", I said "no", he said "that's good", I said "excuse me, but why do you say th's good that I'm not okay", he said, i didn't hear you< isaid "so, you werne't paying attention", he said "i i i i ", Is aid 'are you always this rude?" "did't your mother teach you any better?", all he coud say was "i i i ", so I repeated "i i i ", I then said i asked you a few questions" he couldn't say anything but "i i i i", he then hung up.

And there is always the infamous way of picking answereing your phone, "This is 911, what's your emergency".

The caller started out stating he was representing the Sheriffs Assoc and wanted money. Told him no and he asked would you at least donate ten dollars for the childrens ID project. I explained to him that the Sheriffs Assoc. does not cold call and this is Sunday and I just do not want to be bothered and hung up.

"Please hold while we connect your call" Then connected to caller, who immediately coughed loudly into the phone before asking for me three times. Yes, I said, each time. It's the Maryland Sherrifs Association, asking for money. This time, their plus is preventing identity theft over the internet. Funny, my husband has experienced identiry theft, and it was never from internet use. Recently, we've again been exposed to identity theft, and it was due to stolen medical records. I feel any money donated toward preventing INTERNET focused identity theft is a waste. Besides, I know how to use a firewall, and set my router encryption, and I don't you know, give out my credit card info via email, as I have had some people do when I had a business.

(Actually would get emails with "I'd like to buy this, here's my cc#, please mail it here. Then I'd have to call the cc co and have them call the customer and explain why they can't do that, and talk them into changing their card #)

Just got an unsolicited call on an unlisted number from these turkeys, they wanted us to donate a minimum of $35 for individuals, $100 per family, etc... not even sure what for!!!

We asked for materials identifying the beneficiaries of such donations, which the caller REFUSED.

The suggested that if we gave up a donation they'd send us materials.  Ha!

We told them NO and not to bother us again.

Calling back results in a no-ring, no-tone, DEAD LINE.  NOT what one might expect if it were legit and trying to raise funds.

Exactly what I would expect from a bogus telemarketer, fraudulent scheme or charity scam.

If they call us again, they will end up listening to us while we have dinner in the next room.
