worried this could be a scam ? Call was from 1-847-474-3872 saying it was about a hardship program ? I was preapproved and there was up to $55,000 available ? I never applied and the call back number was 877-782-0203

Yes, it's a scam. If there were such a program, you would have to apply for it, you wouldn't just receive it at random.
