Said they were Dell. They weren't.

some scamer idiot from india is calling from this number as dell:1 877-790-3335

Caller claimed to be from Verizon telling me my account had been hacked

Caller claimed to be from Verizon telling me my account had been hacked

SCAM. Caller claimed my email account was hacked and being used to steal financial information from other people.
Purportedly caller was from Verizon and he wanted to change my computer settings or he'd have to close down my email account.

I put him off and called Verizon where I was told this was a phishing scam.

Claimed to be from Dell, reporting suspicious  activity on my laptop, and wanted me to access the system to correct.  Laptop has not been used for 4 years.  I even told him his accent was pretty bad and that I had trouble  understanding him.  I hung up.
