they just called my number, claiming they were Suntrust Bank and telling me that they locked my credit card and to enter my 16 digit card number to reactivate it.  very very very shady

I just got this call as well at 11:00am on Dec. 5. and the crazy part is that I just opened my account with SunTrust Monday so I don't even have an debit/credit card.

Both my wife and myself received 4 text messages from 253-785-0259 claiming to be a Sun Trust bank. Then we both received the phone call from the 877-818-1489 saying that our credit cards were locked and to enter our 16 digit card numbers to start the reactivation process. We do not even have Sun Trust accounts. This is very shady and needs to stopped by the appropriate authorities.

I got the call on my work cell phone. Since I'm off today, I did not answer. No message left.

Called me today, I don't even have a Sun Trust account. As soon as I heard the automated voice I knew something was wrong. I think someone should report this to the appropriate authority.

I got a call from 102 (just three numbers) that said with a female robot voice "This is Suntrust, we regret to inform you that your debit card has been locked. Press 1 to go to our help center" or something like that. I can't imagine even the dumbest people would fall for this given the pathetic robotic voice that was used...

They pulled this scam on me on 12/5/2010.  Got a call at midnight from a robotic sounding computer from 877-818-1489 saying they were reporting fraudulent activity on my suntrust mastercard (which I don't have), and press 1 to go to their security office.
