I saw this number in our local nickel want ads paper in an add for movie extras.

This is a scam, likely from the Moldovan scammers behind casting360.com.  They also use the number 888-966-0843.
They will demand your credit card number, and get rude if you do not provide it.
They will not offer any jobs, and the pay rates they quote are exaggerated (you have to be in a union to make any decent pay as an extra).  What they do offer are outdated listings of filming locations that require extras.
You do not have to pay anything to get work as an extra (except dues if you are a union member).
