DONT DO IT...SCAM AND A HALF....MY "TO GOOD TO BE TRUE STARTED RINGING"   QUESTIONED A MAN WITH AN INDIAN ACCENT AS TO WHY EBAY HAD NO RECORD OF YHIS TRANSACTION AT ALL...SAID IT WAS BECAUSE THEY WERE PROMOTING GREEN DOT STORES AND AN EBAY LOGO WOULD APPEAR ON RECEIPT.   ASKED WHY I COULDNT USE PAYPAL AND HE KEPT USING PROMOTIONAL EXCUSE....EVENTUALLY HUNG UP AND HAS BEEN BUSY EVERY CALL AFTER THAT.

I was scammed out of $2000 by these pricks on a 2004 tundra. The seller pretended to be in the military transferring to Alaska. Ssgt David Errico. I first got a text from "David Errico" 402 285 3513. Claimed to have posted it on eBay and said that it would be handled through them. I called 877 825 9525 to confirm everything is legit. I have them my order number l, pulled up the truck in question so I thought everything was cool. The following day I got the money packs and sent the money. I got a shipping status report the following day as I was instructed but instead of shipping it said the vehicle was under insured and they would need an additional $1000. I called back told them I wasn't informed of this and would like a refund. They hung up and blocked my number. I can reach them from other peoples phones until they block them as well.

I filed a police report immediately with the midland police department on dec 9th. In midland, texas. They closed my case within a week however I still have not been contacted by a detective or the department in any way.

Has anyone had any luck with their police reports?

Moneypak informed me I won't get my money back but if someone knows a way to trace these numbers we will go get our money back personly from these disgraces. The police need to get them before one of us do.
I pray money pack at least looks into prosecuting these jerks. Or they should be liable because their product is KNOWINGLY being used to scam people.

I don't think there's much the police can do.  You give someone you don't personally know, the Green dot money pak numbers and your money is gone.  Most likely these people are located in another country.

Never pay for anything with Green dot cards.  Period.  

I can't believe how many people will send money card numbers to someone they don't know personally.  But it happens a lot with these Craig's list scammers.

I saw an ad in the Ft Myers, FL Craigslist. It stated that the car was in Tampa. When I emailed Lieut. Heather McDowell to tell her that I would like to drive up and see the car in person, I got this follow-up email:
