called my cell and my job says this is not a joke they wil send the authorities.

Did they say who they were?  I had a call from a blocked number a few days ago.  The agent wouldn't give the company name, but provided 877-836-8507 as a callback number.

When I called back to find out the company name, they threatened to sue me for harassment.  The nerve!

If I can find out who it is, I will sue them.  I have taken a half-dozen debt collectors to federal court, and won every time.

I received a voicemail with the call back number 877-836-8507 left as a callback number.  The voicemail stated they had a summons "in your local court system"  and they were verifying my home and work address to serve a summons for a fraudulent check.  They also said and I had "the right to contact the plaintiff" for more information at 877-836-8507.

I happen to work in the court system, and as most folks know you should get hard copy documentation before you get any type of summons.  Just to make sure I checked the docket and nothing for me.  I've never written a bad check, and have had the same checking account for 25 years.  My guess is that someone got ahold of people's work or cell phone numbers and are trying to phish for financial info.

I did call the number back, and got a lady who wanted my social security # and credit card # "to avoid having the authorities come to my jobsite.....".  
I told her I work at the district court so she should just send her "authorities" there... she hung up.
