Caller has called several times in past 3-4 years wanting me to deliver legal paper to my daughter for actions never stated. When I refuse to assist, caller threatens legal action against me. At this point, I curse the caller severely and articulate exactly what he can do with his legal papers. These harassing/threatening calls to me, but never to my daughter, have been ongoing for years. I will be addressing this to the state AG from which the calls have been made.

Keeps calling me cell phone looking for my brother whom I have not seen since the 90's.....  Trying to serve papers??   I have no idea what he was talking about

They left a voice message on my phone last week and again this week, The voice is robotic at best, not a real human.

Below is a transcript of the message left:

"this is in reference to file number 2024-(I've removed the number). This is an attempt to notify you of a delivery of actionable documents that are being delivered to the address attached to this phone record. You will need to contact the issuing firm immediately at 877-858-0355 to discuss these pending actions or press one now to speak to the next available case manager this message is logged as proof that you have been notified."

It's a Scam - never received any actionable documents. No personal information like names, my phone number (other than the fact they called) address, etc of who they're trying to contact.

Same message as many others so I won't repeat it. Let me explain what this is most likely about. This company will call to tell you there is a pending legal action against you. They want you to call back and if you do and tell them to serve you correctly, according to the law, they will claim they tried to but the mail was returned undeliverable. They will then either tell you to call another number with a case number or they will try to get you to confirm directly that you are the person they are calling. What is most likely going on is either a straight up scam OR a debt collection agency has bought very old debt that is past the statue of limitations. The company wants you to acknowledge the debt because if you do you will reset the statue of limitations for actual legal action. If you do call these people back DO NOT acknowledge any debt. Simply tell them you don't know what they are talking about and if they want to take some kind of legal action against you to serve you correctly and also send all future communications in writing to the address on file, including a debt validation letter. They will most likely threaten you or hang up. All professional attorneys will be willing to identify the name of their business/firm and where they are located and what court they are going to pursue legal action in. If they are actually a process server (actual servers don't typically call people), they too would be willing to explain who they are, the process company they work for, and how they plan to serve you (a phone call does NOT count as legal notification). Actual servers serve the person or send the papers by certified mail. They certainly don't repeatedly call people telling them this is their last chance.
