- Wrong Investigator To Call And Harass replies to CarlosIt is an individual named Chris Chambers, calling from what he calls SDW and Associates out of Cook County, which he describes as a law firm. (Perhaps WDS?)
Received a call, with simply a recorded voice mail message. It stated I was to stay at home for thirty minutes in order to be served with civil papers. It gave the telephone number of 877-866-1312 to call. The number was called as I knew I owed no debts, whatsoever.
An individual named Chris Chambers answered. He asked my telephone number, which I gave to him, then asked the area code. This was also provided. He advised in 1990, this Mary had obtained credit from Chase Bank and had paid payments until 2004, at which time the account was discharged. He said in 1990, Mary had used a person, for a reference, who used the initial L., with my last name. Therefore, I was called.
I asked why I would be instructed to stay at home and be served with civil papers, if someone, 13 years ago, had listed a reference with my last name and my first initial. He said their contractors had found the number and determined it may be me or this Mary may reside at my residence.
I asked to speak with a partner and ended up speaking with an individual named Michelle, who stated the partners and attorneys were unable to take the call.
This is obvious harassment, obvious release of personal information of another person, who, whereever they are, are having their credit history released to members of the general public and perhaps, with the threats, terroristic phone calls.
I will be calling the Bar Associations and State attorney generals offices regarding this harassment. - J in paI was called last night they said they were legal caring services 1st then they were s. David walker associates the Siegel Donovan Walsh. Erin Matthews was the original caller the I spoke with John Abrahms I got scared and gave them debit card info thankfully I called my actual credit card company and cancelled my card right away. - Kyleit's a recorded message about a summons, and wants you to call back. It's likely a phishing scam.
- ChrisJust got the same call as Kyle. Seems like BS to me.
- Shawn in FloridaSpoke with John Abrams at which time I confronted him about using a Gmail account for an email (Siegel Donovan Walsh <sdwandassociates@gmail.com>) for a business. At which time he stated to me that he was "having problems with his goDaddy account which was why he was using gmail). I stated that I had never had an account with GE Capital and had confirmed such this morning on the phone with GE Capital. His voice became heated and he stated "they sold us the debt...fine we'll see you in court" at which time he hung up on me. This is totally a scam!!!

- TC from Los Angeles| 1 replyThese [***] buy old debts and use extortion type scare tactics to threaten potential innocent clients into paying for debts that should be wiped from their credit reports anyway. Lets say you were to "invite" this supposed character to your home or office to accept the summons or be served. In fact help them with specific directions and inform them that there is a cup of tea waiting, a nice hot scone with some delicious home made butter and jam. Shoot tell them that there is a designated space for them to park and that if they would like there will be someone there to detail their car for free too while they are at it. Shucks why not tell them here will also be a massage party so they can get a complete body rub down too - why not? That seems more likely than them showing up in court in front of a civil judge. Or perhaps the distinct possibility of them getting served with an arrest for harassment by your neighbor who is a sheriff. A load of poppycock! What a load of bullocks. Some people... who works a job like that? Haters. Sad when you think of it. In this economy too with SO many people under water and out of work.

- Not just me now replies to TC from Los AngelesThe thing is, they can 'and' will take you to a magistrate court if you've ever had a bad dept at one point in time, and for what ever the reason.
Say after an item sits on your credit history some 10 yrs it's finally charged off and cleared from your credit history( by the big three). But here comes along some corp/company/attorneys or what have you and buy whatever that bad dept was, a lifetime ago, for pennies on the dollar. Then starts the threatening calls, as well as the equally threatening letters, till one day you receive in the mail a registered letter stating you owe some company you've never even heard of money! and they're going to take you to the local magistrate to collect what isn't even theirs!
Be aware, and very careful as that's exactly what they did to me.
I wasn't even aware anyone could do that to people. And all for sake of making a buck.
Now the calls have started again. - JANThis number is connected to someone claiming to be collecting a debt. Also 877-866-1312, 877-866-1312, 312-257-2386. I returned a phone call after speaking with someone who left a message stating that I would be given a summons within the next 24 to 48 hours to appear for a past debt. They also had the last four numbers of my social. They also had info on an account that was charged off in 2009. So at first I thought it was legitimate. After making a phone call that I got from an email correspondence from them to arrange for payment and not getting anything but a recorded generic voice mail, I checked the internet and found that Siegel, Donovan, Walsh and Associates is a scam. I was ready to take care of the debt by giving them permission to charge a credit card.

Reply ! - kristiGot the same call, my husband called the number, they don't say who they are up front, which is odd in itself because any buissness these days answers the phone with their company name, right? When he ask who they were they said Falk and Falk, .... even if they do have a legit debt of mine, don't think making empty or false threats is even legal.

- Ronnie| 2 repliesI got a call from Chris Chambers telling me that I owed $5000 on a credit card, but they would settle for $800. He said that someone had made payments on it, then stopped. I remembered an old gas card I had that was left with a balance of $800 on it, but it should have been settled in my divorce. I figured my ex may have kept the card and used it, so I gave my credit card info and pain $400, with the remaining $400 to be paid in January. I even signed an agreement and faxed it to them.
Today, I find all this info on the company and have now contacted Chase who is cancelling my card sop that can;t take the rest off and they are filing fraud charges, so I may get the other $400 back. I did have an old Shell gas card, but it has been 13 years. These people are good, but do not fall for this. I just panicked and didn't want to be sued! If they try anything else, they will be the ones sued! I'm not paying them a dime!!- Caller: Siegel, Donovan, Walsh & Associates
