This is not a promotional e-mail. Please call us immediately at               1-877-866-2808        regarding recent activity on your Discover Card. We're available 24/7 to take your call.

Please disregard this e-mail if you've already call us since the date this e-mail was sent.

We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.

I believe you are correct. This is a total scam as I don't have a Discover card and I received the email message.

Yep I just got the discovercard email as well--same number--I dont use this card.  It looks like the email address is legit though.  Odd

I received this same email, 3 times in 2 days.  I have never had a card with them either.  I did go to Discover.com and called the legit number listed there.  The representative confirmed that this is a recent scam and gave me the email for their fraud department.  She did say that this is a fairly recent scam.

Don't let what's in the FROM line fool you. It's easy to enter anything there including what may look like a very legitimate source.  I received a similar email and checked its full header information, which showed that the email actually came from abcosafety.com, with an IP address of 209.116.102.188.  A WhoIs lookup showed that it belonged to "MARTIN& ASSOCIATES".
