Called my home. No idea who this is. All searches on internet turned up no info. :( BBB & other agencies will not help w/o company info. Yep...I told em thanks for nothing! :S

Got a call from this number.  Did not answer and they did not leave a message.  Called it back.

A man answered the phone and said they were from Joel Osteen Ministries.  Think they are a non profit, not sure.  Anyway....man said were trying to spread "the word" or some kind of garbage like that.  Then they said would you be able to give a donation of at least $75.00 or more....I said "NO".  He asked why not...Not interested, don't know why he was calling me or how he got my number but told him not to call again...not interested.  

So now you know that a call from 877-867-5946 is a solicitation call  from Joel Osteen Ministries.

We have been getting calls every day and when we pick up the phone it's just dead air.  I called the number back and they answered "Jewel Ministries", so I told them to stop calling.  That was four days ago and I haven't gotten anymore calls (so far).  It seems like they have several numbers and alternate calling with each one.  I believe they also called under the following numbers since I haven't gotten calls from any of these numbers since:

877-867-5933

It is Joel Osteen Ministries.......told them not to call me again.  Guess what, they just called again.  They knew I was angry for the call the first time. What part of I do not want to contribute and do not call me again do you think they did not understand.

We also keep getting hang up calls from this number.  Initially when they called, my husband answered. They asked for me and he inquired as to who was calling. They said "Joel Olsteen Ministries" and he told them I was unavailable ( I was cooking dinner).  Since then we have been getting hang up calls from  877-867-5946.

I just added that number to my block calls.  Thankfully, Charter Telephone offers that service ... can block up to 12 numbers.

Guess what, I have blocked this #  and 5 others, all from Joel Osteen Ministries.  They keep just using one more and one more Toll Free #.

Getting daily calls beginning early in the morning.  Comes up as toll free number. Just want them to stop!

Just received a call from 877-867-5946, which is just one of many unidentified phone numbers used over the past couple months.  If we answer, we get dead air, so unrecognized numbers are simply ignored.

I noticed that on 23 APR 2011 SouthernCA reported the call as having come from Joel Osteen Ministries.  While I suppose it is possible, we have followed the Osteen Ministry since before Joel's father passed and have never known them to call for a donation of any kind.

It was more likely a scam.  Instead of publishing potentially damaging information, why don't you just call or e-mail the ministry and ask them if they make calls to raise funds for the ministry?  http://www.joelosteen.com or call toll free at 888-870-7322.

This is a scam. I too follow This minister and they do not make unsolicited phone calls-If this Scam works it'll be a HUGE mess because this is one of the largest churches in the U.S.and they do wonderful things; schools, shelters, you name it. I'd hate to see this organization get an undeserved black eye.  I will keep following this thread; hope someone finds out who is doing this. Thanks.

This scammer called again probably wanting more "donations".  These losers need to get a life.

This person has called my house on and off for a least a year....  I want these people stopped!!!  This is totally ridiculous....  Yes I like Joel Osteen as well, but I can't imagine them doing this to people.  Pray this person gets caught scamming money out of people!!

Yes, I received a call from this number to my cell phone.  Tried to call this number and the message was unavailable.

I have had the same problem...their computer calls and then hangs up.

It got so bad, I inquired about it, the phone company suggested that I call the number, found out it was Joel Osteen Ministries.

Surprising...because Joel Osteen claims that his Church does not solicit funds (maybe he considers not asking while he's on TV, "not soliciting funds").

Turns out my daughter called and asked for information, and now were screwed.

Anyway...

You can call the number, and have your number be put on their limited call list (they claim no more than twice a year).

I haven't been called again since...so far.

I have been getting these calls. When they asked for 150.00 donations I told him I tithe and give to my church then he said could I possibly give 100.00, 75.00 or maybe a 50.00 donation. I asked for information to be mailed and he insisted I use a credit card or debit card. I refused and he got kinda of ticked and told me I could expect an envelope in the mail with in the next 3 weeks with a red telephone on the outside of the envelope. Trying to contact JO ministries to know if they are doing this or not.

Whoever these jerks are, they don't respect the do not call list (or have one of the many loopholes) and they call way before 9 AM too.  Got a call this morning around 8:20 AM.  I picked up the phone and hung up on them.  Whoever is behind this is very underhanded and greedy.  Don't give any money or any information.  A lot of other questionable calls where callers claim to be from Joel Osteen are coming from these other numbers:

This scammer just called my cell phone. I didn't answer. JO does NOT make unsolicited phone calls like this.

You're very welcome Walter.  I got another call from this number yesterday afternoon (Sunday).  Calls from the other numbers are still coming in too.  Often, I just pick up the phone and hang up on these scammers now.  The same scumbags are probably behind all these numbers.  Best to never give to any solicitor or buy from any telemarketer over the phone and never give any information either.  There's no way to verify where the money is really going or what peoples' information is really being used for.

I received a phone call today from a woman who claimed to be with Joel Osteen Ministries.  She asked me to listen to a pre-recorded message from Joel Osteen and asked for a donation for the ministry.  I contacted the church directly and learned that it was a phone scam.  The ministry never asks for money over the phone or on television.  I'm on the do not call list.  I wonder how they got my number.
