Although I did not recognize the number and the Caller ID was extremely generic, this was actually okay - a recorded message to remind me of a scheduled appointment for Verizon service.

No message - returned call. Verizon, but lady said my recent new installation order had "dropped out" of the system. Tried to charge me another $250 deposit. Phone call got more and more suspicious (said she would compensate me for my time, but any record of it wouldn't be recorded and I had to call her back in three days) - then she hung up on me and didn't call back after verifying my phone number several times in case we got disconnected. Later learned she may have been playing dirty to get credit for the sale herself?

when I called Verizon later that day, initiating the call to the number listed on Verizon's homepage website, they verified my order and confirmed that it had never "dropped out"
