Was checking my account and matching things up and there is this check for 29.95. I do not write checks so I looked into it and it is for Alliance authorized by me! Um no it was not! The phone number on the check is no good!

- vmswI just reviewed my bank statement and found a voucher for $29.95 paying to a company called Alliance. Based on the above information I did call the the 877 number listed on the check and, of course, it said the number wasn't valid. I spoke with my bank, they looked into it and except for this once, they don't see any other withdrawals from this company and they don't know who the company is. They instructed me to go to the bank and file a fraud and theft report. I am also to close this account because this Alliance now knows the combination of routing number/account numbers works and the potential for future theft from my account is there. So this is my next stop when the bank opens on Monday. My withdrawal was dated 11/8/2012 and I can see from the other comments that all the dates are from October 2012 to now. Interesting.
