On Jan 23, 2009 the same thing happened to my uncle. He's been in a nursing home for years. He received a ltr indicatg he owed $2,528. I called and a friendly operator placed me on hold so that I cud speak to a supervsr about the situatn. Well guess what? I waited 1 min and they disconnected the line. What fraud! Keep up the good work in passing on this info.

Received an email from Sprint claiming I owed them money. I just closed out an old account
that was under my dad's name....that last bill was fully paid prior to account closure. Opened a new account with a new phone in my name, paid for the new phone on pre-order (HTC EVO 4G LTE), then set up automatic bill pay for my monthly bill...the first bill I had to pay manually until the second bill kicked in and paid automatically....thats when I received an email from sprint saying to call 877-888-1028 to pay for my account that is past due and to stop it from going to a collections agency....I am not even late on anything!! My second bill just posted too to my account....so I think this is fishy.

received a bill from "Sprint" saying I was past due.  New account for me and I thought I had paid the full amount due on time.  I know not to trust the number on the email  so I am checking here to see if it may be a scam.

While its a good idea to find out if anyone reported a scam about a specific number, you should call Sprint and verify with them if they sent the email. If not, you can report it to them  by forwarding the email to them. Many scammers phish for account info by sending mass fake emails. Reporting it helps to close scammer websites and investigate the numbers they use.

I recently received three emails saying that I need to call Sprint at this number. However, the address on this bill that is going to be given to collection agency is from two moves ago. That address has changed twice for me since 2015 and I changed from Sprint about 7 months ago. Very sketchy...

Sprint was taken over by TMobile, so I had to switch to them. Guess this scammer hasn’t figured that out yet. TMobile says I owe $0.00

An email is not a legitimate method of debt validation. If you think you may owe Sprint, contact them at a known phone number - not this one! - and ask them to mail you a current bill.
