Got a voice mail saying it was the United States Postal Service, please call back and refer to Business ID No. xxxxxxx.  This sounded bogus so I checked this site and saw the above caller's reference to "Every Door Direct Mail" company.  I called to see if I would get the same recording, and I did.  I'm thinking this is a federal offense for them to claim to be the USPS??  Think I will pursue this...

It REALLY IS the United States Post Office If you own a business and,/or visited the p.o. Website or requested information about their direct mail program this is what it is all about- its legit and it is the UNITED STATES POST OFFICE DIRECT MAIL DEPARTMENT. More or less a sales call from the Post Office

A voicemail claiming to be a rep from the United State Post Office asking for an individual that doesn't even work here and never has.  Seems fishy to me for them to be calling a number and asking for someone we never even heard of.

Had Pitney Bowes in the past and therefore an account with the post office... thinking they probably are cold calling from that list.

I recently requested info online from USPS about their Every Door Direct Mail program. They mailed me the info. I didn't answer the call because there was no CID info showing. They left a message to call 877-888-1201. So I googled the number found that others are linking it to the EDDM service.

EDDM is a good inexpensive service and I think the call was legit. I won't call back because I already decided I don't need that service at this time. It would be nice if they would state in their message that the call is regarding their EDDM service.

You people who think this is a bogus call are IDIOTS! You should stop requesting information online from a company (any company) and leave the "its ok to contact me" box checked.  This is what is prompting business' to contact you and follow up on the information you were provided (Normal part of sales. I did recieve this call as well and I was connected to an agent that walked me through the process of sending saturation direct mail.  (Which I did get a 4% return on! I Spent $300 in postage and prining and did 3k new business in 45 days.)  .  Point being the calls are legit and you are the ones promting them so if you want calls like these to stop just tell them your no longer interested in direct mail and they will.

Got phone call from this number at 8AM. googled it, landed here, and lo and behold: I TOO signed up for information from USPS regarding every door direct mail. So these other people's stories make sense, and my experience corroborates theirs.
didn't answer, btw, and they didnt leave message.

I believe this is a legitimate call from the USPS also.  I did request info quite awhile back.  Do not like the way they make the call, very sleazy.. Why not tell what it is about on the message and see if people would want to call back.   Before, I looked up this website, I convinced it was bogus.

It is the Postal Service.  I use direct mail marketing and it is the most cost effective marketing to targeted recipients in any demographic or geographic market.
