- AnneA young sounding girl called saying I had entered into an iPad drawing. She was all over the place in her conversation. She said she was new and was in training. She proceeded to offer me: glamour, Shape, Working Mother magazine and all I had to do was purchase TV Guide for 60 months @ $4.99 a week. When I asked her how I'd be billed she told me that I would have to speak to her manager. She was only trained to tell me about the "GREAT OFFERS & PRIZES" she gave me three options for a raffle & acclaim number for a $100,000. Drawing on July 15, 2012. My confirmation # was C-208. I also said I was not interested in working woman or TV Guide. So they were auspiciously quickly switched to Sunset and Rolling Stone. I was told "pops I'm not supposed to do this so don't get me in trouble."
Her manager gets on the phone and asked me how her trainee spoke to me and explained everything. He then went on to small talk. I found it sad how when both of them asked me what I was studying they could not pronounce the word RADIOLOGY. He also went on to say- oh you study insides. Education

Anyhow, thinking I'm paying $20 a month for 4 magazines I thought was ok. And these poor people probably need the funds to get a GED.
After giving cc info I am told the deal gets sweeter! Instead of paying the entire 60 months I will only have to pay $68.70 PER MONTH FOR 18 MONTHS! that's when I said thanks but no thanks. I'm not working and cannot afford that. He persisted-" don't you want to know how the breakdown works?!" yelling and not so polite just then. I said No, I can't afford that so what difference does it make. I thought I would be billed $20. Per month. I don't want it please don't call back and hung up. Called my cc company and had my card stopped. The jerk kept calling me back- 25 tines to be exact. Left a message and I don't want to hear it. They have my name address birthdate and now I am freaking out!- Caller: Unknown magazine telemarketers

- Diana G replies to MichaelI got this same phone call today. I got the same story --- I'm new, and I don't know all the details, I will have to put you on the phone with my manager. When I got on the line with the manager, I told him that I didn't want to give up my CC # because I am unemployed, and I don't want a direct debit coming out of my account every month. I eventually hung up on him. Sounds like I got lucky because he only tried to call me back twice.
I would never have answered the phone if my caller ID had registered the 877 #, but the original call came through with my local area code, so I answered the call. Guess from now on, I will let unknown numbers go to voicemail. - mhThey are scammers, do not trust them, if I had them face to face I would really let them have it,,it is a young girl who says she is new and in training, then she hands it over to her "boss", some punk who doesnt know what a real job is, to get your credit card number,,i hung up after that and they preceded to call me 12 times in a row,,i am sick and tired of these people, i would really like to get my hands on them and proceed to,,,well you know.............
