- DanI had the same number try to call me, no message left and not going to call them back as too many scams out there.
- Mia| 2 repliesI got a text msg from the number. It says "we are a debt collector" sent me a link to download tax document from Mr. Cooper Loans. My loan is no longer with Mr. Cooper
- Caller: text msg
- Call type: Text message
- BigA replies to MiaTax documents should have been sent out no later than January 31st. by law. If you paid them any money last year then you would be getting a 1098 for the interest and any payments out of an escrow account. You should have already gotten that since your taxes are due to be filed in several days if you haven't done it already.
- chris| 1 replyGot a text today purporting to be from Mr. Cooper saying a tax statement is ready and that they are a debt collector. But my loan with them is closed.
- Caller: supposedly Mr. Cooper
- Call type: Debt collector
- AndiI got a text today saying it was from Mr. Cooper, who I no-longer have an account with- about tax docs being ready. My feeling was this was very late and I called them. They said they did not try to contact me.
- Caller: “Mr. Cooper” supposedly
- Call type: Debt collector
- DrewText message that said tax docs were ready, but I no longer have an open account. I tried to call but wait time was too long. I logged into the mr cooper website (I did not use their link) and there was no new tax doc. Probably a scam or weird mistake.
- Caller: "Mr Cooper" ?
- Call type: Debt collector
- diane replies to Miagot an email says its a debt collector and to open link for tax statement. I'm no longer with Mr Cooper
- Margaret| 1 replyI got this txt message:
"Mr. Cooper Automated message: Thanks for your payment! We posted it to your account on 09/29/2023. Manage notifications to stay informed, your way... blah blah and then a link.
Mr Cooper? I don't know anything about this company? How did they get my tel number? It appears to be another vicious scam or worse.- Caller: Mr Cooper
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BigA replies to MargaretMortgage company. Very well known. Most likely someone entered the wrong phone number. Why do you think that they "got your tel number"? Have you never dialed a wrong number in your life? If you have then how did you get that wrong number in the first place?
- An| 3 repliesI received the text message from the same phone number. Mr. Cooper sent out Notice of Data Breach recently to inform customers of unauthorized access to its systems between 10/30 and 1/11/23.
PII in the impacted files included customer name, phone number, address, SSI.
I think the scammer(s) send text messages using PPI from the unauthorized access.- Call type: Text message
- BigA replies to AnI would have thought that they would have wanted your Social Security Number (SSN) instead of your Supplemental Security Income (SSI) information.
- Cheefy replies to AnReceived the same notice of a data breach in December 23. They offered free identity protection through TrueIdentity and gave a code to enroll. 90 days to enroll. I’m already enrolled in other programs so I didn’t enroll in this one. I have already received Mr Cooper 2023 tax forms in the mail, and since I no longer have have a loan with them, I blocked and deleted the number
- DAN replies to chrissame here. Scam. They got hacked last fall and now givig customers identity theft protection for 2 years. Paid my loan off last year. 2 days later someone filad a sales agreement on my house. Chances are the breach is bigger than stated.
- Some1Remember folks that Mr. Cooper just had a massive Data Breach which they contacted customers by mail to warn along with offering credit monitoring. This is likely a Phishing scam tied to that data breach.
- Caller: Mr. Cooper Debt Collector
- Call type: Debt collector
- Ralph replies to AnAgreed. Got the same text and same letter from Mr.Cooper about the breach. My advice, do not click on any links or reply to the text message. Contact Mr. Cooper directly and verify with them the legitimacy of any collections.

- MrNobodyBeen getting texts about needing to pay a large payment. Doesn't say what for. Gives a link to mrcooper.com. You need to log into an account. No US Mail and no phone messages so it feels like they want me to call back. I have never done business with them. I am not creating an account either. Keep checking my credit score and so far nothing.
- Caller: Mr. Cooper
