- DaniI also received a call from this number does anyone know if this is spam?
- RachelThis number has called.me numerous times and threatened legal action against me. The company name they give is completely false.
- Claire| 8 repliesI received a call and I'm glad I called back because I had a law suit being filed against that had something to do with my old checking account and they were getting ready to garnish my wages. It s real but I didn't think so at first. Better safe than sorry

- Catwoman replies to Claire| 7 repliesHi,
I am just writing to ask you, is this legitimate? I need to know, I keep getting harassed by someone named Tanya at NCS Legal Services. When I started asking her questions, she got really rude and judgemental with me and started raising her voice. I told her that I needed written proof from the original company that is claiming I owe this money, and she said her company does not do that, I should have had a record of it. I have taken out payday loans, and my number has been sold to various scam artists posing as collection agencies. I am at my wit's end! Now, I don't recognize the company she claims I got a loan with - The Titan Group.
Please help, I cannot send money unless this is legitimate. - Badge714 replies to Catwoman| 1 replyCheck the laws in your State about recording calls. When they call again - insist on written proof of debt, by US Mail. NOT fax, text, or email. If your State laws allow it, record the call, & tell them so.

"Tanya" is well aware that a written notice of validation must be provided. By mail. NOT e-mail or fax. Her refusal to do so is her confirmation that she's nothing more than a third party and/or bogus debt collector attempting to collect on an invalid or bogus debt.
Tell her to adhere to the FDCPA. When she refuses (again) tell her to put up or shut up!
Know your rights under the FDCPA. Google it. It's not hard to understand. Once you understand your rights it becomes very easy to tell the "Tanyas" out there to piss up a rope!
It's easy to be scared or intimidated by a fraudulent debt collector. That's their job. The only way they can get money out of their targets is to do so. Stay calm, think it through. There's never a rush. Remember that. Debt is a civil matter. It's NEVER a criminal matter. Regardless of what the bottom-feeder says....ever!
There are many of us here that play with fraudulent and/or bogus debt collectors. We have fun doing so. But we realize, we do so while doing our best to help others that may not be able to deal with parasites as comfortably as we do. We know that a scum-bag making a phone call can be scary to an innocent. That's what we're all about. We want to help. We care.
Bogus and fraudulent debt collectors hate us here. They hate this site. We love that!
Take care & be careful. Someone is usually here to help.
Be Safe. Be Aware.
Godspeed,
Gunnar - Catwoman replies to Gunnar| 1 replyThank you to all of the people who applied to my posting. It's a comfort to know you're out there! I will keep you posted if anything happens. I have so much other stress in my life, I can't take much more of this.
Thank you, God Bless You! - Catwoman replies to Badge714They probably won't call again. She said I had enough time to research if this debt was legitimate, and that she was signing off on this to go to court. She said good luck in court. What's your opinion of that?
- Krystina replies to CatwomanI experienced the same thing today. They said I've owed over $700 since July, a debt I am not even aware of, but I could pay them $300 today and it would be settled. I asked for the original information and they would not provide it and were very rude. They said I had less than 24 hours to take care of it or I would be facing legal action. I asked for an extension until Monday so I could contact my bank and find out whats going on. They started telling me I should have plenty of time to get this taken care of (mind you, this was about 530pm today and I am expected to have it paid by noon tomorrow!). I lost my checkbook over the summer so I am concerned maybe this is legit in some way, but without any real information, I refuse to pay them anything. They continued to hang up on me and were extremely rude.

- Krystina replies to CatwomanFor the record, the people I dealt with today were Tonya, Angie Carter, and Mrs. Whitmore... mind you, they ALL sounded like the SAME PERSON. And when i asked if the calls were recorded so I could have my attorney pull the conversations when we go to court, she said "No, and I am just going to put this down as a refusal to pay! You're going to court!" and I said "I did NOT authorize that you could put me as a refusal, I am trying to work with you" and she hung up.
