Keep getting called from theses people.  They do not explain who they are or what they want.  They do however ask me to verify my social security number.  Has to be a scam.  The number is wrong anyway.

Sounds like a debt collector or debt collection scam.  Not enough information to say with certainty however.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

A man names Ken Moses called and said that I owed money from a loan I borrowed in March 2014 from Midland Financial.  I don't know who this is, verified my address  and last 4 digits of an old bank account.  They also called me on my unlisted cellphone number that I have only had for 2 years.  He said he can be reached at 877-917-0285, ext. 727, name is Ken Moses.

Got a call at work, number displayed came from 603.318.3210 - very rude man said for me to call him back at number displayed, when I asked for the number he said 877.917.0285 the number displayed and that was not the number displayed.  A scam!  Be cautious what you give out for information.

Called me at work and left a message.  This time its Shaun EXT 732 and no details just that its a personal matter.  and to call back at 877-917-0285.  Caller ID came from a local area code but can tell that the prefix is a scammer.
Positive this is a scam. not calling back because then they know they have a correct number.  Most of these scammers go off a list that other scammer have been compiling over time.  They can not verify your information nor do they know it.  They are phishing for any new information to add to the list.  So sad our society has gone this far.  If it was a true debt, then you would receive a invoice or letter in the mail.

Scam.  If you call that number they do not immediately ID themselves but a robot puts you on hold and they play
Chopin's "Minute Waltz".  To my mind this is an indicia of an off-shore Caribbean-based debt scamming operation.  SImply ignore and block.
