who are these people they called me and i just ignored them until i see something in writing

This is a collection agency claiming that court papers are coming to your home or job but they need more information. ..ignore them. As you know when you're being served no one calls you first.

I got a message from a Laurie Walker saying she was from Legal Services and that a case is being filed under my name and social and told me to call with some case number to reference. I don't owe anyone anything, all negative items came off my credit report years ago. I even checked my county's court website and nothing was filed against me. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE THE TIME OF DAY or VERIFY ANYTHING WITH THEM OVER THE PHONE. They are trying to get you to acknowledge old debt which is illegal once it is off your credit report.

I had this number call me. said they were a liaison for Brinkman and associates. then gave me a case # and another number to call. i called and they said i owed a debt i had paid off over 9 years ago. the man Shawn said i had to give him a credit card number or go get a pre- paid card so i could give him money. i am reporting to the New Hampshire attorney generals tomorrow.

Got a call from this number his name is William Murphy stating I have a fraud case against me with my social security number and I owe money to a loan place. Called the loan place they stated they have had a lot of people complaining of scammers.

I have received the exact same call from an unknown number. The guy left a message on my phone as Don Howard. Stated that I had two complaints against me and my social faxed to his office from Brinkman and Associates. He stated that he would be serving me either at home or at work within 48 hours. If that was inconvenient then I could call the 877-917-5722 number and speak to their legal services and gave me a case number. The first thing that was off was the supposed case number. Here in WA state the case numbers do not start that way ever! I'm a law student and would know. I then looked online and found this company to be a major scam. This is unacceptable.

Real legal servers do not call you, they just show up!

File reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,CFB,FTC & FCC..

I got a call from Laurie Walker from phone number 8779175722 stating she was from legal services. Gave me a case number saying they will be coming to my home or place of employment within the next 24 hours. That was at 1:55 pm PST TODAY AprilL  29 2014....i got a call from a shawn white about....about a year or two ago.....stating something similar. I THINK ITS A SCAM.

They called me this morning; on my cell phone!  Stating I had unpaid payday loan; reported to them in 2005; would accept pay-off today of $400.  Scared me at first, because they referenced it was back in 2000, when I lived very far away!  Then I called my attorney, they told me this is a TOTAL SCAM, I filed PD report, contacted Credit Reporting Bureaus, and also went to FBI website, where this scam is specifically listed.  They called again a little while ago and left a threatening message.  I called back directly to an extension I was given (ext. 126 "Jeffrey Daniels").  He started talking over me, and when I said I had found this website and comments EXACTLY like they had told me.  He hung up on me; I don't believe a valid company would do that?

Just got the same message on my answering machine from  Don Howard (as a person above also stated), he said the exact same thing that he had my SSN and I needed to call him back with some case # or he would be showing up at my home or place of employment. Said he was from some kind of legal department at Brinkman and associates.  Also told me if that was inconvenient to call their office at the 877# to discuss. NO way. This is a total scam. When you are being served legal papers they show up at your door and don't give you any notice. I Know I have been sued once and I got no warning what-so -ever. Please do not let these people scare you. Report them. No legal debt collector threatens to send legal paperwork to your home or office. (I am disabled and not working anyway), so they are fishing for information. Don't call them. It starts the ball rolling on some old debt that is about to fall off your credit report. Once you call them you start the ball rolling and it becomes due again. They must buy old debts. Please be careful with companies like this one.

Same EXACT call I received, word for word. However, they used my married last name and ive been divorced since 2007 and I went back to my maiden name, so my concern is, how in the world did they get my cell number!! I havent gone by the last name they called me in over 8 years. A bit scarey. Total privacy invasion somewhere.

These same people just called and I cursed Mitchell out! I took all his information and said send me the papers and hung up !

These people called me and said there was a judgement against my husband for a payday loan he took out in 2004. He never took out a payday loan.Then they are said we are going to be serve you with some papaerwork so i asked who was going to serve us they didnt know. I asked when they said whenever they are not busy I asked who they was? they hung up on me.  They said there was a hearing scheduled and was my husband avaliable from 9-11. I asked where the hearing was they didnt know I asked who the hearing was with they didnt know.I told them I was going to call the Attorney General's office to verify them because there is a scam going around and they hung up on me. They dont know anything. Dont give them any information.

Yes These people are calling me doing the same thing.
